CBS’s new un-woke chief reportedly stunned 60 Minutes team by asking one embarrassing question

Bari Weiss, the new Editor-in-Chief for CBS News, reportedly stunned the 60 Minutes team into silence with one simple question.

According to a New York Times report, Weiss baffled the crew by asking them to explain the current prevailing opinion about their news coverage.

“Why does the country think you’re biased?” she asked.

“The inquiry was met with stunned awkwardness, according to three people who recounted details from the private session in Midtown Manhattan. The staff of ’60 Minutes,’ the nation’s most-watched news program, view their coverage as firmly nonpartisan and reject criticism from President Trump and his allies who argue that it has a liberal slant,” the piece reads.

It goes on to point out that Weiss is not the type of leader that one would expect to see at a legacy media organization, especially given her history of criticizing establishments like CBS News for their reporting practices. While her critics claim her lack of leadership experience may imperil the reputation of CBS, many of her supporters believe she’s exactly the kind of straight shooter that the mainstream media needs right now, if they’re going to have any chance at clawing back viewers who have abandoned them.

“Ms. Weiss, 41, is unlike any broadcast news leader in recent memory: an outspoken opinion journalist who has never worked in television, and whose rise was powered in part by critiquing the practices of old-line mass media like CBS,” the article continues. “Since her start date on Oct. 6, Ms. Weiss has met with leading anchors and executives, impressing some and confounding others. She has mused about CBS-branded live events, booked interviews for the network with high-profile newsmakers by text message, and complained about a flurry of leaks concerning her early tenure, urging executives to identify the leakers in the newsroom.”
