Clancy lawyer heaps heroic praise on admitted child killer after mistrial – paints target on holdout juror

Topsy-turvy talking points found Lindsay Clancy’s attorney heaping heroic praise on the admitted child killer while painting a target on the back of the lone juror deemed responsible for a mistrial.

Friday in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the weeks-long trial of Clancy, accused of intentionally strangling her three young children to death, came to a close with a deadlocked jury, 11-1. Following his blowup at Judge William Sullivan earlier in the day, defense attorney Kevin Reddington held fast to a glowing opinion of his client while demonizing the juror who “robbed” the rest by seemingly refusing to let Clancy off.

“I’m representing a woman who is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave, so awesome. Every day she came in this courthouse, stood tall, no pun intended,” expressed Reddington outside the courthouse as he issued a statement and fielded questions from the press for nearly 30 minutes.

“The poor thing is in a wheelchair — as we all know, for the rest of her life — and sat there through seven weeks of a trial where nobody had anything bad to say about her except for the two prosecutors and apparently Tim Cruz,” he continued, referencing the Plymouth County district attorney.

While Reddington proceeded to dig at Cruz over his alleged inability to remember the names of the filicide victims — five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan — reactions were hardly as keen on Clancy’s portrayal.

As reported, earlier Friday, following a note from the jury the day prior on a single holdout accused of being unwilling to abide by instructions on reasonable doubt, the defense attorney sounded off on Sullivan in a push to dismiss the lone juror for an alternate who would potentially join the 11 in acquitting his client by reason of insanity.

Having already insisted that one of the few male jurors had looked the judge “in the eye and lied” about his ability to follow instructions, Reddington had more to say in targeting the man whose motivations or reasoning remained unknown.

“They know that they were robbed,” said Clancy’s attorney of the other jurors, “by one man, for whatever his agenda was, who stole seven weeks of the life of these other jurors that were so attentive, so beautiful, so wonderful and listened to this evidence. And you could see how defeated they were sitting there.”

“And I’ve got a feeling they would’ve gone on for another week if they had to,” he went on before adding, “So I hope that guy can sleep well at night.”

When asked what he might say if given the chance to speak with the juror, whom he alleged had a “bias against those who suffer from debilitating mental illness” in his attempt to stay the mistrial, Reddington smirked as he told a reporter, “I think I’ll defer on that.”

Meanwhile, days after 56-year-old Dawn Light of Massachusetts was arrested and pled not guilty to allegedly filming jurors at the courthouse, the door appeared to have been opened wide for intimidation as the defense attorney himself was called out over his response to the mistrial, with the next hearing set for September 29.

On Thursday, the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh was among those sounding off on Reddington for his behavior toward the juror, captioning a clip of the lawyer’s reaction to the jury note, “The defense attorney is now running a public pressure campaign against a juror. This is insane. Totally unprecedented. They’re going to burn the whole system down for the sake of letting a woman get away with triple homicide. Sickening.”
