CNN’s Kaitlan Collins interrupts RNC Chair’s Trump investigation comments to defend Hillary

CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins brazenly ran cover for Hillary Clinton on Friday, cutting off RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel during a discussion of former President Trump’s classified document investigation, pushing the leftist talking point that it was different for the former secretary of state.

During “CNN Primetime,” McDaniel pointed out that Clinton was never truly investigated and was never charged for having classified documents in her possession and then destroying evidence of it. The Republican National Committee chair argued that Clinton was held to a far different standard than Trump is being held to.

Collins constantly interrupted, calling McDaniel’s allegations untrue and attempting to revise history.

“I haven’t seen the whole process play out. And I think the presumption of innocence is very real, in this country. And we need to honor that,” McDaniel stated referring to Trump’s indictment. “But I do think it’s — we have a very divided country. I’m a Republican, on CNN, saying that. I’ll bet most of your viewers, who may not be Republican, agree with me. We have an incredibly divided country.”

“And when Republicans feel like there’s one system of justice for them and a different for Democrats, there’s one standard for Hillary Clinton and a different for Donald Trump? It doesn’t help bring our country together. And we have an MIA president,” she added.

Collins then went to bat for Hillary Clinton, “But the allegations are not the same for Hillary Clinton.”

“You know what? Because she never was investigated. She never was investigated,” McDaniel pointed out.

“She was investigated,” Collins shot back, referring to what many consider a sham of an investigation conducted by the FBI over allegations against Clinton.

McDaniel then tried to discuss what Clinton actually did to destroy evidence and Collins was obviously intent on not letting her voice a defense and recount facts.

“She had a BleachBit server. She had a BleachBit. She destroyed phones,” McDaniel correctly asserted.

“But she was investigated,” Collins reiterated as if that made it true.

There was then crosstalk where Collins refused to let McDaniel finish a sentence.

“But is it that because of the level of the allegations is different?” Collins falsely posited.

“She had 22 top secret documents. Trump had 17. That in and of itself, she had more,” McDaniel stated.

Then Collins devolved into nonsense on Clinton’s emails while pushing unproven specious allegations about Trump’s documents.

“They were emails that were classified at the time that weren’t later on. He was holding on to US nuclear secrets, information about US allies, and their weaknesses,” she claimed.

I haven’t seen the process play out. And he hasn’t had a chance to defend himself. But we know this. We know that she didn’t get indicted. We know her home wasn’t raided. We know his was,” McDaniel clapped back.

“We also know we have a president, in Joe Biden, who isn’t addressing the American people, in a time of crisis, a deeply divided country. I think a former president being indicted, is a time of crisis. And to not hear from our president, to have Joe Biden, hiding again, and not bringing people together, is very disconcerting,” she commented. “So, we’ll let the process play out.”

Earlier in that same interview, Collins asked McDaniel about Trump’s indictment. That’s when McDaniel began bird-dogging the issue.

“When you look at that and you see is conduct that is alleged in that, do you believe that that’s becoming of a former commander-in-chief and the Republican frontrunner right now?” she asked the RNC chair.

“What I will say, Kaitlan – and I think Bill Barr’s even said this, who… isn’t always on President Trump’s side on some these issues, but he has said – it feels like there’s a two-tiered system of justice,” McDaniel commented. “If you look back at Hillary Clinton, she had 2,000 classified documents – 22 of them were deemed top secret. She had eight different blackberries that were never investigated by the FBI. And she’s let off scot-free. And you see a totally different standard of justice for Donald Trump who had seven top secret documents.”
