Communists, unions and activist networks emerge as key players in France’s street unrest

Exposing the obvious overlooked by much of corporate media, Fox News Digital revealed a slew of familiar players tending to the destructive astroturf movement in France and beyond.

Over the weekend, stories began spreading about a student uprising in France with claims of cost of living grievances readily contradicted by images of looters and rioters, including middle-aged men, waving standards for communism, Islamism and Antifa. While CBS News took heat for describing clashes and a nation ablaze as “scuffles,” Asra Nomani set to work exposing dozens of leftist groups united as “Chaos Inc.”

The Fox News Digital senior editor of investigations set the stage with 54 organizations and movements, of which the majority were adults rather than the reported student and youth organizations. This included communists, Trotskyists, Islamists, radical environmentalists and careful coverage by the likes of Marxist billionaire Neville Roy Singham-funded BreakThrough News.

“CHAOS INC. — Communists and Islamists unite to torch Europe and the USA. In my newest [Fox News] Digital investigation, I name names,” wrote Nomani on X, sharing the report while teasing, “Expect more names. I like this model: moving names from my database to your consciousness. The US, India, the UK. Where do you wonder about?”

In the report, Nomani detailed, “From the outset, far-left socialist and communist organizations helped organize and amplify France’s student revolt, using grievances over school conditions as a pretext to mobilize a broader political struggle against capitalism, government austerity, policing and military spending.”

She went on to state that “an international coalition of 28 communist and socialist youth and organizations are galvanizing students and youth for a coordinated strike across 12 countries in Europe under the slogan ‘Fight for Our Future, Not Their Wars!’ They are calling for walkouts, demonstrations, assemblies, blockades and occupations.”

Along with listing the limited student organizations involved, like Solidaires Students and Youth for Equality and Democracy, Nomani provided names and descriptions for the myriad leftist groups like Parti des Indigènes de la République, Confédération générale du travail, Force Ouvrière, Amnesty International France, Extinction Rebellion and Singham’s People’s Forum-linked Indian Alliance Paris.

While BreakThrough News described the protests as “Anti-Macron,” CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans, Singham’s wife, spoke with the outlet and pointed to the riots as an example for planned protests in the United States.

“I want people to look at France, Spain and India,” she said while Vijay Prashad, executive director of Singham-funded nonprofit Tricontinental Ltd. took to X to express, “Paris–New Delhi–Buenos Aires … Let fury have the hour, anger can be power. (The Clash, Clampdown, London Calling, 1979).”

It’s worth noting that the same day violent protests swept across France and elsewhere, a similar cadre of leftist organizations backed “No Kings” events around the United States that actively bucked their own instructions to remain nonpartisan.

What’s more, Nomani, along with breaking news reporter Michael Dorgan, previously exposed how a supposedly “spontaneous protest” against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Austin, Texas had been organized by groups like the Democratic Socialists of America and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
