Congressional Dems pressuring Google to remove pregnancy centers from abortion clinic search results

Instead of speaking out against the terror attacks being committed against legitimate crisis pregnancy centers, congressional Democrats are leading an effort to pressure Alphabet Inc. into removing these centers from its Google search engine.

On Friday a group of 21 Democrats led by Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Elissa Slotkin submitted a letter to Alphabet complaining that Google search engine users who search for abortion services are sometimes directed to crisis pregnancy centers.

Included among the signees were the likes of Bernie Sanders, Dianne Feinstein, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Richard Blumenthal, among others.

“We write today regarding disturbing new reports that Google has been directing users who search for abortion services towards anti-abortion ‘fake clinics,’ also known as ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ or ‘pregnancy resource centers’ without any disclaimer indicating these businesses do not provide abortions and seek to steer women away from certain health decisions,” the letter reads.

“In the wake of the leaked Supreme Court decision that would overturn Roe v. Wade, we find these reports especially concerning and would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter,” it continues.

The lawmakers also complained in the letter about Google Maps and Google Ads directing Google search engine users to crisis pregnancy centers.

As evidence of Google’s allegedly bad behavior, the letter references a study from the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

“According to research by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a U.S.-based nonprofit that fights online hate and misinformation, 11% of results for searches for ‘abortion clinic near me’ and ‘abortion pill’ in states with so-called ‘Trigger Laws’ – laws that would effectively ban abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned – were for anti-abortion fake clinics. Directing women towards fake clinics that traffic in misinformation and don’t provide comprehensive health services is dangerous to women’s health and undermines the integrity of Google’s search results,” it reads.

FYI, the CCDH is a far-left activist group that seeks to silence anyone who dissents from the views sanctioned by the Democrat establishment.

And according to the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA), crisis pregnancy centers are not “fake clinics,” and claims otherwise are just talking points plucked straight from Planned Parenthood.

Crisis pregnancy centers offer a slew of legitimate services to women, including but not limited to pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD testing/treatment, and counseling.

The letter concludes with the lawmakers demanding Google outline a plan “to limit the appearance of … ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ in Google search results, Google Ads, and on Google Maps when users search for ‘abortion clinic,’ ‘abortion pill,’ or similar terms.”

Congressional Democrats submitted this letter the same week that the far-left extremist group Jane’s Revenge admitted to committing several recent terror attacks against crisis pregnancy centers nationwide.

The extremist group also posted a threat of violence declaring “open season” on any crisis pregnancy centers that refuse to close their doors.

“From here forward, any anti-choice group who closes their doors, and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are. The infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive. We will never stop, back down, slow down, or retreat. Through attacking, we find joy, courage, and strip the veneer of impenetrability held by these violent institutions,” the group declared.

“And for the allies of ours who doubt the authenticity of the communiqués and actions: there is a way you can get irrefutable proof that these actions are real. Go do one of your own. You are already one of us. Everyone with the urge to paint, to burn, to cut, to jam: now is the time.”

Despite these extremists representing the Democrat Party base, ideologically speaking, congressional Democrats have stubbornly refused to condemn them.

During her weekly press briefing Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the most powerful Democrat in Congress, was asked to respond to the fact that “there have been a number of attacks on churches, on crisis pregnancy centers” and that “Republicans are going after Democrats for not saying anything and they’re saying that your rhetoric is contributing to these attacks on these crisis pregnancy center[s].”

She responded by refusing to condemn the attacks and instead essentially condemning Republicans for their pro-life views — the same views that the terror group Jane’s Revenge is trying to silence through intimidation and violence.

“Well let me just say this: a woman has a right to choose, to live up to her responsibility, it’s up to her doctor, her family, her husband, her significant other, and her God. This talk of politicizing all of this, I think, is something uniquely American and not right,” she said.
