The blatant hypocrisy of liberal Democrats complaining about illegal aliens being bused to their communities, particularly Martha’s Vineyard, has conservatives roaring in laughter — and justifiably so.
After years of championing open border policies, labeling their communities so-called “sanctuary cities,” and proclaiming the virtues of uncontained “diversity,” liberal Democrats are finally getting a taste of their own medicine — and as noted by many conservatives, it’s a sight to behold.
What makes liberal Democrats’ behavior particularly amusing is the lengths to which they’ve previously gone to virtue-signal their alleged righteousness.
For years residents of Martha’s Vineyard have displayed signs in front of their homes proudly touting their far-left virtues.
Look:
This sign is in Martha’s Vineyard. Note that they “Stand with immigrants, with refugees,” etc.
What happened to their solidarity? pic.twitter.com/ZoaFGpCzUb

I wonder how many people in Martha’s Vineyard have this sign in their yard pic.twitter.com/08f9zEkqen

Notice how the first sign seen above explicitly states, “All Are Welcome Here.”
And yet, faced with the prospect of illegal aliens being bused to their communities and potentially housed in their homes, liberal Democrats have been throwing a fit.
Case in point:
Exploiting vulnerable people for political stunts is repulsive and cruel. Massachusetts is fully capable of handling asylum seekers, and I’ll keep working with local, state, and federal partners to ensure we have the necessary resources to care for people with dignity.

There is another aspect around Ron DeSantis’s assault on decency that deserves comment. He is literally attacking an American community in a different state and trying to hurt and destabilize it. He is abusing his power to attack Massachusetts to please Fox News and MAGA.

The hurling migrants at liberal cities and towns thing is narrowly funny in a meta way only because it’s premised on the assumption that everyone is as xenophobic and cold hearted as the governors and officials doing the hurling, and I don’t think they’ve once been proven right

Serious questions for devout Christians – WWJ think of how DeSantis and Abbott are treating these migrants? Where in the Bible can you cite support for treating the poor, hungry and oppressed (including kids) this way? If he could dictate our immigration policies, WWJ say?

Basically human trafficking—cheered on by people who call themselves Christians. It’s disgusting. https://t.co/ek71Jatdgw

Just got off the phone with the @WhiteHouse. I’m asking the @TheJusticeDept to investigate Ron DeSantis’ political human trafficking.

This woman’s remarks stand in stark contrast to what they were more than happy to brag about on their signs. pic.twitter.com/RtWhZQPtqf

Notice how some of the critics above accused governors like Texas’ Greg Abbott and Florida’s Ron DeSantis of committing “human trafficking.”
Never mind Democrat President Joe Biden’s own track record of busing and flying illegal aliens to all corners of the United States.
Regardless, what ever happened to the “All Are Welcome Here” signs, hmm? It’s almost as if the residents of Martha’s Vineyard don’t actually believe any of the pompous nonsense the virtue-signaling signs spout.
Whole lotta Martha’s Vineyard residents about to take down the “all are welcome here” lawn signs sitting in front of their mansions. https://t.co/vxMs65w4Xy

Liberals on Twitter today are having a VERY difficult time living up to their values on immigration when it comes to Martha’s Vineyard. I’m so ashamed.
As a BIPOC I took their yard sign at face value and I feel like I’ve been tricked. This isn’t the country I know and love. pic.twitter.com/LHkotN1KDP

Jokes aside, what explains the sudden about-face by liberal Democrats? According to conservative radio show host Ben Shapiro, it’s simple hypocrisy.
Speaking on the radio this Thursday, he contrasted Democrats’ outrage over illegals being bused to their communities with their lack of outrage over illegals dying left and right as they make their way to the United States.
“”You send a bus filled with people to Martha’s Vineyard and my God, it’s a human rights violation. It’s not a human rights violation, by the way, to leave the border open and incentivize hundreds of thousands of people, including small children, across some of the most dangerous areas on planet Earth,” he said.
“There’s been something like over a thousand migrants who’ve been found dead along the American border because people are falling, people are sick, people are starving, people are dehydrated. You have coyotes who are bringing people in in hot trucks and then leaving them to die in the back of these trucks. That’s not a problem.”
But, he added, to the left, it’s a big “problem if you put people on air-conditioned airplanes from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard.”
Why is that, though? Because, he explained, “it’s only a serious problem because now you have to see it and now you have to own the consequences.”
“That’s the really serious problem. It turns out, as always, that Democrat policy is all fun and games until they actually have to pay for it,” he said.
