Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has tested positive for COVID-19 and she took the prerequisite stance expected of Democrats to praise her vaccine for the mild symptoms she was experiencing while announcing the results — the science suggests that most people contracting current variants of the virus are experiencing mild symptoms.
Yet it wasn’t Clinton’s fidelity to the COVID vaccine that prompted online ridicule, but a request for movie suggestions that she or Bill could watch while they lay up at home in quarantine.
“Well, I’ve tested positive for COVID. I’ve got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine. I’m more grateful than ever for the protection vaccines can provide against serious illness. Please get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already!” Clinton tweeted, adding in a follow-up: “Bill tested negative and is feeling fine. He’s quarantining until our household is fully in the clear. Movie recommendations appreciated!”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who also tested positive this week for the virus for the second time in under a year, offered her suggestion: “Finally watching Inventing Anna (and recommend!) And highly recommend lots of water, tea and juice.”

Of course, given the Clintons’ long, sordid history in politics, much of humanity lies awake at night awaiting just such an invitation to unload an avalanche of snark — well, surely some do.
On that note, ask and ye shall receive.
I’ve got a few movie recommendations. And a few books. #DerelictionofDuty#HillaryTheMovie
Feel better.

Juanita Broaddrick, who accused Bill Clinton of raping her in 1978 while he was attorney general of Arkansas, offered a book for the former president to curl up with instead:
“Maybe give him a book to read,” Broaddrick tweeted, adding a photo of the book “You’d Better Put Some Ice On That: How I Survived Being Raped by Bill Clinton.”
