DC cop turned CNN pundit likens Trump J6 indictment to the day Osama bin Laden was killed

Trump haters celebrated after the latest indictments against the former president with one of them, former D.C. Metro cop Michael Fanone saying that he was stirred in a similar way to when he found out that Osama bin Laden had been taken out.

Fanone, who parlayed his January 6 fame into a spot as a regular analyst on CNN, was breaking down Special Counsel Jack Smith’s charge against Trump after the news broke and his hyperbole likening the former president to the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 terror attacks was so unhinged that even left-wing host Laura Coates was shocked.

When asked by Coates for his take on what he thought when he heard of Smith’s indictment, the ex-cop replied, “When I first learned about the indictment, I had a long conversation with a friend of mine, Ryan Reilly, and I told him how proud I felt to be an American at that moment. Much in the way that I did when I learned that our military had killed Osama bin Laden. I just felt incredibly proud.”

“These two seem comparable to you?” Coates asked, seeming to be taken aback at the crazed comment.

Fanone continued, “Incredibly proud to have been…,” before the host interrupted him.

“I’m sorry, I don’t want to cut you off, but why that comparison in particular?” Coates inquired of his comparison of the patriotic ex-POTUS to the Islamist fiend who declared war on America.

“I believe they’re comparable,” he replied after a pause.

“In what way?” Coates persisted.

“Absolutely,” Fanone replied, pausing again before adding, “Osama bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people and against our republic, and I believe that Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrific acts against the American people.”

“You can imagine that is a very eyebrow-raising statement, to say the least, the notion of Osama bin Laden in comparison to Donald Trump,” Coates responded, expressing concern that such remarks could taint public perception of the coming kangaroo court trial. “It likely speaks to just how deeply you have been concerned and have felt about all of this. But are you concerned that statements like that or the rhetoric surrounding what his role has been is going to cloud people’s view of this indictment as a fair process?”

“I think that the only person or people whose view matters with regards to this indictment are the jurors who will eventually be sat and listen to the facts and ultimately make a judgment as to whether or not Donald Trump is guilty of the charges that Jack Smith and the Department of Justice have brought forward,” Fanone responded, saying that Trump’s fate will be in the hands of a jury pool pulled from an area that hates his guts.

“Other than that, what I say — what I say or what Republican lawmakers say is just, you know, sh*t to take up time on cable news,” he added.

Fanone has been a frequent critic of Republicans and especially Trump whom he expressed a violent fantasy about during an appearance on a left-wing podcast last year.

“If you were still a full-time police officer, would you have liked the opportunity to actually arrest Donald Trump for those charges?” Dean Obeidallah asked the former Beltway cop.

“Oh, I love it. I hope he resists!” Fanone said, practically drooling over the prospect of police brutality being inflicted on Trump.

Osama bin Laden was hunted for nearly a decade after 9/11 before he was finally located at his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and killed in a daring raid by U.S. forces in May 2011.
