Former President Donald Trump continues to come under fire in the form of indictments, but he’s not letting that shut him up.
The most recent indictment, accusing Trump of conspiracy to defraud the United States among other things, is being praised by the likes of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. The former president was quick to respond on Truth Social, claiming it is nothing more than an attempt at “election interference.”
“The latest Fake ‘case’ brought by Crooked Joe Biden & Deranged Jack Smith will hopefully be moved to an impartial Venue, such as the politically unbiased nearby State of West Virginia!” Trump wrote. “IMPOSSIBLE to get a fair trial in Washington, D.C., which is over 95% anti-Trump, & for which I have called for a Federal TAKEOVER in order to bring our Capital back to Greatness. It is now a high crime embarrassment to our Nation and, indeed, the World. This Indictment is all about Election Interference!!!”
Previously, American Wire reported on Pelosi’s response to the most recent legal challenge for Trump, which she described as “heartbreaking.”
“It’s heartbreaking for our country to have a president of the United States with this list of charges against him,” Pelosi remarked, though her countenance was not as somber as her statement. Pelosi also went on the praise the work of the January 6 select committee, noting that many of the charges in the indictment line up with ones that had been recommended by the group.
“It’s interesting to see how similar they are to some of the charges recommended by the January 6 committee and I commend, again, the committee. I’m so proud of them.”
