Two protesting women chanting “Jews against DeSantis” ran on stage and interrupted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as he was delivering a speech at a GOP fundraising event in New Hampshire this Friday.
To his credit, DeSantis handled the protesters like a boss, standing in place and not flinching even an iota. In fact, he even had a little fun at their expense.
“You gotta have a little spice in the speech, right? I mean, you gotta have a little fun,” he said nonchalantly after the women jumped on stage, prompting applause from the crowd.
“Why you’d want to pay the ticket to get in just to do that, I don’t know, but different strokes for different folks,” he added.

All this happened at the Amos Tuck Dinner, which was hosted by the New Hampshire Republican State Committee, according to Insider.
The protesters were part of a radical group called IfNotNow. In a press release sent to Insider, the group said that their failed protest was intended to draw attention to both DeSantis’ upcoming visit to Israel and his otherwise popular policies.
The group also posted a lengthy statement to Twitter smearing the Florida governor, accusing him of being some sort of antisemite.
“We’re making clear that DeSantis is an antisemite whose actions and policies both support Israeli apartheid and put Jews in danger,” the statement reads.

The group appears to be left-wing.
“On his last trip to the occupied West Bank, DeSantis signed agreements with orgs in illegal settlements. He even signed legislation ostensibly fighting antisemitism – in reality, it enables the right to frame Palestinians’ human rights as ‘discriminatory,'” the statement continues.
Hilariously enough, the statement goes on to even smear the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the most powerful pro-Israel lobby in America, for also allegedly being antisemitic …

AIPAC and DeSantis support occupation and apartheid at the expense of Jewish safety.
We believe in the opposite vision: where liberation for Jews and Palestinians are inextricably linked. We fight for equality, justice, and a thriving future for all Israelis and Palestinians.

Notice how the group’s talking points align perfectly with the left’s distorted, arguably genuinely antisemitic views about Israel. In reality, Israel is not an apartheid state, and there is no so-called “occupation.”
But then what explains the existence of the West Bank and Gaza?
“Those areas have their own governing authorities whereby they manage their own affairs. In fact, they don’t just want their own separate state. Disputing Israel’s right to exist, they advocate Israel’s destruction and refuse to give up terrorism,” according to the Jerusalem Institute of Justice.
“As a result of this hostile intransigence, Israel cannot take the self-destructive step of extending citizenship to the Palestinians in the territories, which would amount to de-facto annexation. But the fact that the territories are governed separately from Israel does not imply by any stretch of the imagination that Israel is an apartheid state.”
With this in mind, critics were quick to mock the group’s claims of antisemitism.

You guys would be the anti Semites.

I am no fan of Governor DeSantis but who appointed you to represent the Jewish people?

How is Desantis an antisemite? You don’t like his support for Israel, but how does that make him antisemitic?

As for DeSantis, some say his trip to New Hampshire is yet another indicator that he intends to run for the presidency.
“The trip is DeSantis’ first this cycle to New Hampshire, the state that holds the first primary and second contest overall in the GOP presidential nominating calendar. The popular conservative governor from Florida has already stopped this year in Iowa (which holds caucuses kicking off the Republican schedule) and Nevada (which holds the fourth contest) and next week visits South Carolina (which votes third),” according to Fox News.
