U.S. Rep. Daniel Goldman ridiculously claimed that President Biden discussed “the weather or whatever” with the first son’s business associates when speaking with them on the phone.
The Levi Strauss heir and Brooklyn Democrat was cornered by reporters on Monday following the testimony of Hunter Biden’s former friend and business partner Devon Archer. He told lawmakers that the then-vice president was frequently on calls involving the first son’s business dealings but somehow never discussed business.
Goldman is a member of the House Oversight Committee. He was also the lead attorney who sought to impeach former President Trump in 2019.
Following Archer’s four-hour deposition, Goldman was forced to admit that the testimony alleged that President Biden had been asked on “approximately 20 occasions” to say “hello” during Hunter Biden’s business meetings, according to the New York Post.

“The witness was unequivocal and stated very clearly that they never discussed any business on [those] phone conversations,” Goldman speciously claimed.
“There were niceties. And there was a hello. And [they] talked about the weather or whatever it was,” Goldman outrageously asserted, “but it was never any business.”
Naturally, he brought the death of Beau Biden into the mix, claiming that a number of the calls involved Biden speaking to overseas colleagues about his elder son who died in 2015 of brain cancer.
“It’s really important to remember that during this time period that we’re talking about here, Beau Biden, Hunter Biden’s brother, and President Biden’s son, became very ill with cancer and died,” Goldman stated. “The witness described in vivid detailabout how devastating that was to both Hunter Biden and to Joe Biden and how their communications picked up dramatically in the aftermath.”
Goldman was also asked by a reporter if the alleged “$5 million bribe” paid to Hunter Biden ever came up during the deposition.
Not sure why @Axios would present the Devon Archer testimony from Biden proxy defense counsel Dan Goldman’s view but this is a classic red herring. No one ever said Archer knew about the $5million bribe allegations. pic.twitter.com/wdPnGf1tQ5

“Yes. Thank you for doing that. So we did bring up the FD-1023 and he categorically said that he was unaware, had no knowledge of any $5 million payment made to either Hunter Biden or to Joe Biden and would be shocked if that actually existed,” Goldman disingenuously replied.
“And let’s remember, he was on the Burisma board with Hunter Biden. So if as a board member, he would have known if Burisma was paying a bribe to any of the Bidens,” Goldman added, referring to Archer.
Republicans weren’t buying it in the least. In fact, Ohio Republican Congressman Jim Jordan called Archer’s testimony a “productive” meeting, indicating there was new information that was damning to the Bidens.
“Who dials their father into 20 business phone calls?” the Oversight Committee Republicans asked on Twitter.
“All that was discussed over 20 times is how much Joe Biden loves his son,” Spectator contributing editor Stephen L. Miller snarked.

“In the eight years that my father was President of the United States I never once sat in the room with business associates and called him on the phone,” Michael Reagan said of his father. “If I had, the Democrats would have skewered me.”

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) claimed that whether business was discussed or not, it was evident that Hunter Biden used his father’s political influence to sell the “brand” of the Bidens.
2) The argument was that then-Vice President Joe Biden brought the most value to “the brand.” Archer also stated that Burisma would have gone under if not for “the brand.”

“Devon Archer’s testimony today confirms Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved. Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ that his son sold around the world to enrich the Biden family,” Comer declared in a statement.

For years, the president has claimed that he never once spoke to Hunter Biden about his overseas business dealings. It is becoming apparent that simply was not true and it stretched credulity to begin with.
Then it morphed into that Biden “was never in business with his son.” That narrative is now shifting again and it is incensing conservatives and Americans in general.
For instance, The New York Times reported, “It has long been known that the elder Mr. Biden at times interacted with his son’s business partners.”

Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Comer if he would be able to prove that Biden took part in the alleged bribery scheme.

“I tell you, and this is why the Republicans have one-half of one house. The government, one branch of government is so critical because these investors would all get covered up. And both of you put your neck on the line to get to the truth. And we went a long way today. And this. Will you both, answer yes or no? Do you believe that this is now officially the Joe Biden bribery allegation? And do you believe that you will be able to prove that? Jim Comer,” Hannity asked.
“I sure hope so. And I do believe that there’s a lot of smoke. And where there’s smoke, there’s fire. We just heard testimony today that Joe Biden had lied to the American people,” Comer charged.

What were the Bidens selling? Nothing but access & influence to the highest levels of government. @POTUS needs to be honest. What else is he hiding?@SeanHannity pic.twitter.com/PzW04yzvMk

“Jim Jordan, do you believe that? And do you believe that the DOJ has been helping to cover it up?” Hanniter asked Jordan.
“Well, it sure looks that way. And I would tell you this, Joe Biden said he was not involved. There were two dinners at the Cafe Milano in DC. One of them, as you pointed out, where Joe Biden was there for the entire dinner. Both times. One of them had Mrs. Baturina, this Russian, the wealthiest woman in Russia, worth over $1,000,000,000. So that sure is a different story than what he’s been telling us all along,” the congressman stated.
