Disgruntled progressives blindside AOC with SAVAGE beatdown at town hall: ‘You’re a coward!’

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was called out during a town hall Wednesday by her own side for being a horrible “progressive” whose values don’t appear to comport even an iota with actual progressivism.

An actual progressive value is being against war, yet Ocasio-Cortez has consistently voted with establishment Republicans to fund the war in Ukraine. It makes no sense.

Now enter Jose Vega, an activist who, along with an accomplice, showed up to Bronxdale High School this Wednesday evening to call out the congresswoman to her face as she spoke at said town hall.

“Congresswoman, none of this matters unless there’s a nuclear war, which you voted to send arms and weapons to Ukraine. Tulsi Gabbard, she’s left the Democrat Party because they are war hawks,” the accomplice can be seen and heard in the video above shouting at Ocasio-Cortez.

“OK, you originally ran as an outsider. Yet you’ve been voting to start this war in Ukraine. You’re voting to start a third nuclear war with Russia and China. Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens? You’re playing with our lives,” the accomplice can be heard continuing.

The accomplice is then removed from the room by security, at which point Vega then stands up and continues where his accomplice left off.

“There will be no neighbors if there’s a nuclear bomb. You voted to mobilize and send money to Ukrainian Nazis. You’re a coward. You’re a progressive socialist? Where are you against the war mobilization?” he says.

The Nazis part was a reference to the Azov Battalion, a Ukrainian military unit that the media used to call out for years up until Russia invaded Ukraine, at which point they suddenly began portraying these literal Nazis as the good guys.

“You have done nothing. Tulsi Gabbard has shown guts, where you’ve shown cowardice. I believed in you and you became the very thing you sought to fight against. That’s what you’ve become. You are the establishment. And you are the reason why everybody will end up in a nuclear war, unless you choose to stand up right now and denounce the Democrat Party. Will you do that?” Vega continues.

He wasn’t joking about him having  “believed” in her:

Given a chance to speak, Ocasio-Cortez then says something about a “line.” Perhaps a red line? It’s unclear what she says.

Undeterred, Vega continues, “There is no line. Because this is bullshit. None of this matters if we’re all dead. None of it. You know that. Because this is the only thing that matters.”

The video concludes with him trying unsuccessfully to convince the congresswoman to speak on this issue.

This video of Ocasio-Cortez being called out comes as a domestic anti-war sentiment continues to rise because of the risk that Russian President Vladimir Putin may use a nuclear weapon.

Critics say the United States needs to stop handing over money and weapons to Ukraine and, instead, persuade the European nation to sit down with Russia and mete out a mutual compromise.

The problem is that the war hawks, particularly on the left but some also on the right, are hellbent on continuing the war until Putin is deposed — something that’s extremely unlikely to happen.

The war hawk fever is so intense on the left that former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard officially renounced her status as a Democrat this week because of it.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue ​and stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms​ that are enshrined in our Constitution,” Gabbard said in a statement.

This doesn’t necessarily make her a Republican, though she does appear to boast some conservative bona fides. But it does put her more in line with actual progressivism than virtually the entire Democrat Party.

As for Vega, he has a rich history of protesting “progressives” who don’t behave like progressives, including Rep. Jamaal Bowman:

“Congressman, you’re a hypocrite because you are funding neo-Nazis in Ukraine!” Vega shouted to Bowman at an event last month.

He added that members of the Azov Battalion wear the same Black Sun symbol that the racist Buffalo shooter, Payton S. Gendron, had used.

“You say you want to advance the black cause, but you are funding the same people who kill in the name of white supremacy!” he noted.
