Gabbard claims she’s being censored, says it’s part of ‘larger machine’ controlling ‘marketplace of ideas’

Former Democratic U.S. representative from Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard, is being censored by Big Tech, who are “doing all they can” to silence her, the one-time presidential hopeful told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham Wednesday.

After a previous appearance on the “Ingraham Angle,” during which Gabbard claimed that “nothing that the Biden administration has done has helped” to make the tensions surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine better and stated that the war between Russia and Ukraine is “good for the military-industrial complex,” clips of the interview were flagged by YouTube and Google as  “inappropriate” and “offensive to some audiences.”

What’s more, Gabbard claims, her subsequent posts on social media are being suppressed.

When asked by Ingraham why calling out the military-industrial complex would be considered “offensive,” Gabbard called it the work of the “power elite.”

“Yeah, you know, Laura, that was not the only example,” Gabbard confided. “I gotta tell you, just before coming on your show today, I found out that Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, is also suppressing my voice.”

“Normally, on average, videos that I post on Instagram get somewhere between 250,000 to 300,000 views, tens of thousands of likes,” Gabbard explained. “The video I posted last night or early this morning got about ten percent of that, around 15,000 views and a couple of thousand likes, and it is very clear that they are doing all that they can to suppress my voice, suppress the message that I am carrying out.”

“And it just points to yet another example of this larger machine that is very clearly at work, that is controlling our marketplace of ideas,” she continued. “And this machine is made up of the power elite. It’s made up of these big social media tech giants. It’s made up of the powerful politicians from both parties in Washington, the military-industrial complex, people who feel directly challenged when anyone dares to question their narrative, the message that they want the American people to hear. And so while they can’t silence me, they’re going to do all they can — as we are seeing they are doing all they can — to try and make it so as few people dare to hear my voice, to hear something that asks questions or that is different from that mainstream narrative.”

Gabbard’s claims may sound like a paranoid conspiracy theory, but the truth is, Big Tech is actively censoring dissenting voices and they aren’t trying to hide it. In fact, they’re often quite proud of it.

Take, for example, NewsGuard, which rates news sources according to nine criteria of its own creation and then decides for the world whether or not the news it reports is fit for public consumption.

Each site NewsGuard reviews receive a “Nutrition Label” and either green or red checks based on the assessment of a paid journalist.

The organization then sends out press releases and newsletters, such as the “Misinformation Monitor,” to effectively warn readers and potential advertisers to avoid spending their dollars with those sites it has deemed are information pariahs, while urging social media platforms to crack down on those who spread so-called “fake news.”

Over on Facebook, fact-checkers are constantly flagging posts it disagrees with. When Facebook was ultimately sued by journalist John Strossel after he dared to post “wrongthink” about climate change and was summarily downgraded and demonetized, the Big Tech giant defended its position, claiming the unfavorable Strossel rating is “protected opinion under the First Amendment,” according to a report at the time from the New York Post.

Twitter is no better.

Satire site, The Babylon Bee, was recently locked out of its Twitter account for poking fun at Dr. Rachel Levine.

Twitter has denied The Babylon Bee’s appeal, claiming, “Our support team has determined that a violation did take place, and therefore we will not overturn our decision.”

What’s more, Twitter has now suspended the CEO of a popular account called “Not the Bee” for using a screenshot of the original Babylon Bee tweet.

And just for good measure, as BizPac Review reported Wednesday, Twitter then took out Charlie Kirk and censored Fox News’s Tucker Carlson for stating that both the Babylon Bee and Kirk made true statements regarding the biological gender of Rachel Levine.

On air, Tucker spoke out against the censorship stating, “The point is to make the rest of us repeat a lie.”

And what’s worse, Big Tech doesn’t care if a majority disagrees with them.

Laura Ingraham pointed to a new Fox News news poll which shows that 55% percent are against giving military aid to Ukraine if it risks getting into a war with Russia.

“So I guess these Big Tech censors are happy to censor the views of the majority of Americans,” Ingraham noted.

“That’s really what is at risk here, this marketplace of ideas,” Gabbard said. “Our freedom of speech is fundamental to who we are as Americans, and those numbers are encouraging to see, because I think people realize what is at stake when you pit two nuclear powers against each other — the United States vs Russia — and really, what is it all for? You and I have had this conversation before. We were told by President Biden that ‘this is something that must be done, freedom isn’t free, we have to pay the price.’ But it’s not Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris paying the price. It’s everyday Americans all across the country who are struggling every day to make ends meet who are paying the price for the fact that this president is failing to do all that he can to bring about an end to this conflict.”

“I think that it is important to be clear that Putin and Putin alone is responsible his invasion — Russia’s invasion — of Ukraine and the atrocities that are occurring there, and really the death and suffering of so many Ukrainians that we are seeing and are heartbroken to see every day coming through our television screens and online,” Gabbard said. “We as Americans need to hold our president accountable and responsible, to see, what is he actually doing? What is his strategy to bring about an end to this conflict, to encourage negotiations, and thus far, we have not seen that at all.”
