Disney CEO reportedly asked ‘The View’ divas to tone down Trump hate, and look who’s not happy

A report that Disney CEO Bob Iger asked the co-hosts of “The View” to tone down their political rhetoric about President Donald Trump has upset race hustler Jemele Hill.

Appearing on a CNN panel this Saturday, the former ESPN host and notorious race hustler accused Iger of having been bullied into submission by the president.

“Trump is obviously, again, using his position as president to put pressure on these media companies, and I think a lot of them are capitulating and feeling that pressure, because they have things and business deals and things on the side that they want to happen, that they want to do,” she said.

“Do the ratings support that you should stop talking about Donald Trump? Probably not,” she added. “If you are Bob Iger… that’s the only thing that should matter. As long as the audience decides that they have an appetite for that, then that’s what the women should talk about.”

Actually…

“While The View enjoyed a brief surge in viewership following President Trump’s re-election in November 2024—drawing over 4.4 million viewers the day after the election—those numbers quickly dropped,” according to That Park Place.

“By May 2025, average weekly viewership had fallen back to around 2.3 million, just barely ahead of Fox News’ The Faulkner Focus, which overtook The View in the ratings for the first time earlier this year. ABC insiders say that viewer fatigue over nonstop political content played a role in executive discussions about rebalancing the show’s format,” the reporting continues.

Nice try, though.

Hill continued her rant by slamming ABC News.

“To see, and I know that they’re not straight journalists necessarily on ‘The View,’ but it’s still representing a journalism body, so if the business that you work for, and again you all know I went through this at ESPN, if they’re not willing to defend you in this moment, that’s really leaving you vulnerable, and it’s really leaving our entire industry vulnerable,” she said.

The original report about Iger dropped from The Daily Beast, which reported last week that both he and ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic have been on the hosts’ cases about politics.

But the hosts reportedly didn’t take the recommendation well.

“[T]he suggestion alone rankled the hosts,” according to The Daily Beast. “The group pushed back forcefully, with hosts like [Ana] Navarro noting the show’s audience routinely seeks out its perspective on politics, especially when the administration’s radical attempts to upend the government can potentially affect their daily lives.”

The hosts ultimately concluded that the request was “silly” and that “they were just going to keep doing their thing,” according to an unnamed source who spoke with The Daily Beast.

Leftists are strongly in support of the hosts.

However, another unnamed source told Fox News something different.

“Most [of the] hosts agree with the ABC top brass,” the source said. “‘The View’ is a daytime network talk show and needs to do more than just politics and Trump bashing. This was a welcome direction for many of us.”

Over on CNN, meanwhile, also appearing on the network’s panel this Saturday was former talk show host Montel Williams, who noted that he personally has always steered clear of politics.

“When he’s out of office, what are they going to talk about then?” he asked. “I do two podcasts, I try to stay off politics completely, and guess what? My ratings are up, my numbers are up.”

“I do things like, like, people suffering from MS, people suffering from PTSD, I do things like that because I think that our nation needs to be engaged in other conversations than just what he’s [Donald Trump] doing every day.  Because talking about him every day, I’m glad the ladies pushed back, but I would like them to take a trip outside of ‘The View,'” he added.
