Donald Trump Jr. was a guest on the “Steak For Breakfast Podcast” Monday and took a swipe at Fox News for not inviting him to appear on the network in over 9 months, accusing them of not only censoring Tucker Carlson and Dan Bongino, but himself as well.
The leftist Daily Beast seized on the innocuous comment and reported on it first, noting that Trump Jr. had made it on the “Steak For Breakfast Podcast” podcast while discussing his latest venture which is a viral podcast on Rumble titled, “Triggered.”
“I got into it for the same reason. I’ve been seeing, I’ve been watching the censorship happening even in conservative mainstream media. I mean, you saw what sort of Fox did to Tucker Carlson, last week, and the week before that, it was Dan Bongino and, you know, the people who would actually question some of that narrative,” Trump Jr. asserted.
“Like, is it a brilliant plan to send $130 billion dollars to Ukraine, one of the most corrupt nations in the world, while simultaneously launching not just a proxy war, which we’ve been fighting for two years with Russia, but also seemingly a ground war, against the world’s largest nuclear power by volume of nuclear ballistic missiles,” he noted.
Trump Jr. went on to plausibly suggest that the reason he’s not on Fox News so much anymore is because of his continued support of the “America First” agenda.
“I noticed even with me, you know, I’ve been at sort of outspoken America First and I used to be on Fox 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 times a week. I haven’t been on in nine months. Not a call, not an invite, not anything. And so I understand what it, what it appears like they’re trying to do to the America First movement. You know, Tucker was another one of those voices,” he claimed.
“You know and when you say, ‘Donald Trump’s the only one that understands this foreign policy and the risks of nuclear war with Russia. You know, Ron DeSantis flip-flopped on it,’ and just saying that was like, ‘Okay, you’re gone. Bye, bye,'” Trump Jr. continued.
The former president’s son has a point. The Trump family virtually disappeared from Fox News for a while, according to Mediaite’s Colby Hall. However, Eric Trump has been on Sean Hannity’s show a number of times since then and Donald Trump has also done several interviews for the network. Ironically, one of the last ones was with former host Tucker Carlson.
Some observers called Trump’s absence from Fox News a “soft ban” between late September 2022 and late March, when he did not have an on-air interview, according to the Associated Press.
Trump Jr. also slammed Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday for allegedly not coming to the defense of Tucker Carlson.
“It’s been almost a week since Fox News fired Tucker Carlson & Ron DeSantis STILL hasn’t found the courage to say a word about it. Wonder why? We already know he flip-flopped on Ukraine because of his donors, so i guess it’s unsurprising that he’s afraid to cross Paul Ryan & Fox,” Trump Jr. tweeted.
