Donald Trump gives teen son Barron special shoutout at packed Mar-a-Lago as Trump women lay low

Despite noticeable absences from the crowd, former President Donald Trump made note of each of his children after his arraignment, drawing attention to one particular attribute of his youngest, Barron.

Hours after appearing in a Lower Manhattan criminal court Tuesday to be arraigned on 34 counts related to allegedly falsifying records in regard to payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Trump returned to Palm Beach, Florida. Met by an adoring crowd at Mar-a-Lago, the president singled out his accomplished children for their support.

“I have a son here who has done a great job, another son here who has done a great job,” he said mentioning Eric and Don Jr. who were accompanied by wife Lara Trump and fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle respectively, “and Tiffany and Ivanka.”

“And Barron will be great someday. He’s tall,” the doting father said, “he is tall — and he’s smart.”

“I have a great family and they’ve done a fantastic job and we appreciate it very much,” Trump added. “They’ve gone through a lot.”

His mention of Ivanka and Barron was significant as neither was in attendance at the event.

According to the New York Post, Ivanka and her husband, former White House adviser Jared Kushner, had traveled to Wyoming for Passover, “a trip they’ve made in past years.”

Despite efforts to remain out of the political sphere, the couple was said to be “supporting [Trump] as family members in private” and Ivanka had issued a statement after Thursday’s indictment that reads in part, “I love my father and I love my country. Today I am pained for both.”

“I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern,” she added.

Kushner had been speaking at the Future Investment Initiative Summit in Florida Friday when he stated, “It’s been hard to watch the opponents of him politically continue to break every norm over the last [few] years to try to get to him.”

“I’ve been by him during a lot of these instances and it’s only made him stronger and his resolve to take on big challenges to fight for change,” the president’s son-in-law said.

Meanwhile, former first lady Melania and Barron were believed to be remaining out of the spotlight due to the nature of the charges. The affair allegations made against Trump were said to have occurred after the birth of the then-businessman’s youngest child.

Though Melania has not spoken out, People magazine reported that a source close to her said, “They weren’t expecting [the indictment], but Melania will support him. That’s what she does. They are a family.”

Another insider told the outlet, “She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends.”

High-profile figures that did attend Tuesday’s speech included Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) and Matt Gaetz (Fla.), as well as former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell all rubbing shoulders with some of Trump’s most ardent supporters.
