Donald Trump’s presidential library plans ‘already breaking molds’

A new report suggested that President Donald Trump’s lawfare challenged future library could be something wholly new as it’s “already breaking molds.”

Unsurprising, given the track record of Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers in recent years, even the plan to preserve the history of the 45th and 47th president of the United States had been interrupted by litigious detractors. The fight to secure property and leave a lasting mark on the Miami skyline wasn’t the only unique aspect of the library as Politico reported the Republican leader could “blow up the model of a presidential library.”

“Forget glamor-free presidential libraries in towns like Little Rock or Grand Rapids,” wrote Luke Mullins, referencing the locations of the libraries of former President’s Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford, respectively. “Sometime after 2029, enthusiasts might be able to take in a facility whose possible elements include a 47-story tower, a hotel, a rooftop restaurant, and a prime perch in the Miami skyline.”

“Donald Trump’s presidential library, like Donald Trump’s presidency, is already breaking molds — and it hasn’t even been commissioned yet,” insisted the report.

Regarding the potential design specifics of the library, Politico cited anonymous “Trump allies familiar with the planning.”

“I could envision … [a] traditional library space [on the] first couple of full floors,” said one individual said to be familiar with the discussions. “Then you go up to 10 floors: hotel. And then you’d have office space. And then you have, you know, probably a beautiful restaurant at the top.”

Meanwhile, merely securing the location had come with stumbling blocks as, in October, advancement of the library was stalled when Judge Mavel Ruiz blocked Miami Dade College from providing the land intended for the project to the state of Florida at Gov. Ron DeSantis’ request. The decision had been driven by a lawsuit from Florida International University professor Marvin Dunn who took umbrage with the decision being made without public input.

According to Politico, the college board’s recent decision to redo the vote regarding the land could “render the courtroom wrangling moot. But a case is still scheduled for next summer.”

In addition to upscale spaces likely to make the project “a whole lot more lucrative than the libraries of his predecessors,” the future library was expected to house the Boeing 747 provided by Qatar for use as Air Force One while the manufacturer sought to complete the order for new planes that have been delayed. The outlet indicated that the inclusion would “dwarf the single-story Boeing 707 at Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley, Calif.”

Also noted was how the suggested 47-stories would be considerably taller than the 225-foot Obama Presidential Center in Chicago that had not only exceeded its estimated cost by hundreds of millions of dollars to construct what many considered an eyesore reminiscent of a science fiction dystopia, it had wrecked the historic Jackson Park in the process.

What’s certain of the Trump library is the sought after location, deemed a “developer’s dream” by Miami condo analyst Peter Zalewski, who noted the proximity to the Miami Heat’s Kaseya Center and Biscayne Bay.
