Doocy trolls Fetterman and Dems, asks KJP if Biden would wear ‘shorts and a hoodie’ to work

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy caused a ripple when he asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at a briefing about President Biden’s work attire.

Doocy was obviously trolling the press secretary, Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Democrats, and the president all at once when he asked if Biden would ever show up to work in shorts and a hoodie, obviously in reference to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer changing the dress code in the Senate so that Fetterman could wear casual attire on the chamber floor.

“There are some new relaxed standards in town. Would President Biden ever show up to an official meeting wearing shorts and a hoodie?” he asked with a smile.

“You’ve — you’ve — I’m assuming you’re talking about the Senate when you say ‘relaxed standards,'” Jean-Pierre responded with a half-smile and chuckle.

“He was in the Senate for a long time,” Doocy pointed out, referring to Biden.

“I know, but I’m just —” she attempted to respond.

“He used to be the president of the Senate,” Doocy pointed out.

“I just want to make sure we’re clear what you’re talking about here,” the press secretary said,  dancing around the topic.

“Does he think these are appropriate changes?” Doocy asked, cutting to the chase.

“You — you know the president. You’ve seen him. You’ve seen him for the past — as vice president, as senator. He — he dresses better than — than most of us here,” she said with a laugh. “And so, I’ll just leave it at that.”

“I’m not going to comment on how Senate is running their business and the decision that they’re — made. That is — that is up to them,” she added, avoiding a direct answer as usual.

“And then —” Doocy began.

“That is not for us to decide,” the press secretary responded, dismissing Doocy.

Fetterman’s attire has sparked fierce reactions and debate.

He even showed up last week in a t-shirt and shorts to preside over the Senate in an embarrassing devolvement of Senate protocol.

Fetterman has clapped back at Republican critics over his attire in a less than classy manner, telling them, “If those jagoffs in the House stop trying to shut our government down, and fully support Ukraine, then I will save democracy by wearing a suit on the Senate floor next week.”

Conservatives are certainly not buying into that ridiculous challenge. But since Fetterman insists on dressing like a slob, it seems more than fair that Doocy would ask if Biden would as well.

Meanwhile, the dress code debate, which even made its way to the discussion table on “The View” has sparked entertaining memes and AI-generated images of lawmakers in various outfits. RedState’s Jeff Charles gifted social media users with unforgettable images

One even got a response from Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
