Elon Musk moves forward with plans to open all-night Tesla drive-in ‘Supercharger Diner’

Billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly planning to open an all-night Tesla restaurant in Hollywood, California, that will come with all the bells and whistles.

The 24-hour Tesla diner will feature a drive-in movie theater, two 45 ft. LED movie screens, indoor and outdoor seating, “and of course, 28 superchargers so you can recharge while you relax,” Yahoo Finance reported.

Noting that Musk had first tweeted about the idea in 2018, Yahoo Finance noted the Telsa CEO submitted the documentation to the city of Los Angeles just this month.

“Possibly delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Musk has only just now gotten around to filing the paperwork. Rumor has it that the new venture will be on the site of a Shakey’s pizza location on Santa Monica Boulevard. The new business would likely take advantage of the entire 9,300 square feet worth of space,” MSN reported, adding the endeavor will be “a multi-level diner” that will seat 200.

In January 2018, Musk tweeted: “Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA.”

The following month, he responded to a tweet and a photo about a Santa Monica charging station being nearly full after just 10 minutes, as seen here:

Ever the innovator, he followed that up with a reminder that patrons will be able to pay with Dogecoin cryptocurrency.
