While many conservatives love the feisty, fearlessly outspoken Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), there are times when her controversial points of view open the door to mass ridicule — and her recent suggestion that the government might “zap” your body if you eat meat not grown in a “peach tree” dish is one of those unfortunate times.
During Sunday’s broadcast of “MTG Live,” Greene warned viewers that the Biden administration is aiming to become a surveillance state — a point with which many Americans are increasingly agreeing.
But in making her argument, Greene floated a Bill Gates cheeseburger conspiracy, and things kind of went downhill from there.

“You have to accept the fact that the government totally wants to provide surveillance on every part of your life,” Greene said. “They want to know when you’re eating. They want to know if you’re eating a cheeseburger, which is very bad because Bill Gates wants you to eat his fake meat that grows in a peach tree dish. So you’ll probably get a little zap inside your body and that’s saying, ‘No, no, don’t eat a real cheeseburger, you need to eat the fake burger, the fake meat from Bill Gates.'”
“They probably also want to know when you go to the bathroom and if your bowel movements are on time or consistent,” she added.
Set aside the cheeseburgers for a moment, because bungling “petri dish” with “peach tree dish” was enough to fuel her opponents’ vitriol for days, given her previous “Gazpacho police” gaffe.
“If someone serves me meat Bill Gates grew in a peach tree dish, I will *immediately* call the Gazpacho Police,” retorted Rachel Vindman. “Don’t even think about it.”
“What is a peach tree dish?” asked Rep. Gloria Johnson (D-Tenn.). “Is it made from the wood of a peach tree?”
“She likes to go to Petri Street whenever she’s in Atlanta,” snarked Mark Whicker.

Other users jumped at the chance to use the gaffe as an excuse to disparage a large swath of Georgians, which is apparently fine, as long as you don’t disparage “Saturday Night Live.”
“Not to disparage SNL, but this would be a great skit if it weren’t for the fact that she just won her primary by 70% of the vote,” one user tweeted. “I firmly believe the ppl in NW GA have lost their minds.”

Peach trees aside, MTG is hardly the first person to target Bill Gates and his push to end meat consumption as he gobbles up American farmland.
As BizPac Review reported back in February, Joe Rogan took aim at Gates for the same reason, noting that, as of January 2021, the billionaire owns 242,000 acres of U.S. farmland, making him the nation’s largest private farmland owner.
“But the thing is, he keeps saying that we’ve got to eat less meat, and we’ve got to cut our consumption of meat out to be healthy, and we’re gonna get used to these meat alternatives,” Rogan said on an episode of his wildly popular podcast.
“When a guy like that says that, I’m like, ‘are you making money because of this?’ Like, why are you saying that?” Rogan, a health nut and martial arts expert, continued. “And by the way, you look like s–t. If you’re eating those plant-based burgers or whatever the f–k you’re doing, you’re obese.”
As for government surveillance… well, you may not get zapped for eating a cheeseburger, but how far off is Greene, really?
