In yet another example of recent behavior that many have deemed not normal, an ESPN soccer analyst collapsed in the middle of a live broadcast.
Former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop collapsed in Pasadena, California, while covering a match between AC Milan and Real Madrid, falling into his horrified broadcast partner Dan Thomas.
Hislop had just spoken and the camera panned to the stands for a brief moment before returning to the broadcasters. It was at that point that signs of distress could be detected on Hislop’s face as he began to wobble wildly. In the video, Thomas picks up that something is amiss but has no idea Hislop is about to collapse on him, which is what happened next. As the 54-year-old former player crashed to the ground, Thomas quickly called for help.

ESPN quickly cut to a break after Hislop’s collapse and Thomas would tweet shortly thereafter: “Shaka is conscious. The medics are looking after him.”
Thomas would update viewers at halftime, saying that Hislop was “conscious and talking.”
He said it was “far too early for any kind of medical diagnosis” — CNN reported that it was a very warm 86 degrees at the time of the incident.
“My mate, Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it’s good news,” Thomas said. “He’s conscious, he’s talking, I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all. He’s apologized profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.”
“We spoke to his family as well because you imagine seeing that happen live, there can’t be many things that can scare you amongst a family … we spoke to his wife and things are looking OK,” he added.
Dan Thomas gave an update on Shaka Hislop’s condition.
