ESPN host unleashes hateful rant on DeSantis: ‘One of the stupidest people I’ve ever seen’

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is not a fan of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and he unleashed a nasty rant on the Republican presidential candidate that was as hateful as it was misinformed in yet another example of how the sports world has become completely intertwined with “woke” politics.

Smith’s angry diatribes have made him into a wealthy man and a superstar in the hyper-politicized modern-day sports commentary environment, but like most left-wingers who pollute the air with their toxic takes, he is biased to a fault and grossly ignorant on the issues, especially when it comes to the NAACP’s ridiculous stunt of issuing a travel advisory to the Sunshine State as a part of the ongoing temper tantrum over DeSantis and laws that the political left dislikes.

On a recent edition of his podcast, the 55-year-old sports personality went off on the popular Republican governor whom he said is “one of the stupidest people I’ve ever seen” for his recent signing of a bill to ban racist anti-white Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs at the state’s universities, a move that had leftists shrieking like vampires doused with holy water.

Prefacing his rant by saying that he isn’t the type of person who “engages in incendiary rhetoric about politics or politicians,” Smith then proceeded to do exactly that with his attack on DeSantis who is rapidly replacing former President Donald J. Trump atop the left’s hate list over his uncompromising approach to the cancer of wokeism.

Acknowledging that he isn’t an “aficionado on this subject,” the host said he has the right to call out someone who “looks like a damn fool” before launching into his silly take that shows that he is either completely clueless or just another ventriloquist dummy for the Democratic Party.

After warming up by ripping DeSantis’ positions on illegal immigration and abortion, he turned to the NAACP travel warning which he read for listeners.

“If you’re DeSantis, it’s bad enough you’ve alienated the Latino community, it’s bad enough, you’ve alienated tens of millions of women because I assure you, even though you have an abundance of women against abortion, most would like the right to make the choice for themselves as opposed to having male politicians dictate those choices for them. Now we get to this latest stuff and this is where it hits home for me ’cause I’m a black man and we’re talking about the NAACP,” he said.

“Respectfully to the governor, Ron DeSantis, who obviously has offended Latinos, blacks, women — have you lost your mind or do you just want to throw away the election? Is that what you’re trying to do?” Smith asked.

In issuing its Florida warning, the NAACP has once again demonstrated that it is only a shell of its former self as one of the nation’s most widely respected civil rights organizations instead of just another arm of the Democratic Party. And while the travel advisory may persuade some leftists to seek other vacation destinations it probably isn’t going to convince rational people to do so.

“Florida has ranked number one in higher education for seven years in a row, and by signing this legislation we are ensuring that Florida’s institutions encourage diversity of thought, civil discourse, and the pursuit of truth for generations to come,” DeSantis said after signing SB266. “Florida is taking a stand for empowering students, parents, and educators to focus on creating opportunities for our younger generations. I am happy to have worked with the legislature to get this important legislation signed, sealed, and delivered.”

DeSantis has described DEI as “discrimination, exclusion, and indoctrination” and the left can’t deal with their racist ideology being uprooted in Florida.
