Liberals have not been shy about their disdain for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Arizona, but a recent tweet from Berkeley professor Robert Reich was seen by many as a thinly-veiled call for violence.
In his quickly-deleted message, Reich, who also served as Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Labor, suggested that rather than shake Sinema’s hand, Democrats “should have given her the backs of theirs,” appearing to indicate that he believes Sinema should have been assaulted. Recently, Democrats have been at odds with the female senator over her unwillingness to budge on the filibuster and voting reforms. This has caused much frustration throughout the party.
Unfortunately for Reich, Twitter has a long memory, and simply deleting the tweet (without even so much as acknowledging that what he said was wrong) wasn’t enough to keep it from continuing to exist.

Social media had plenty to say about Reich and his message for Sinema:
Hey little lady… if you don’t vote my way we’re just gonna have to smack you around a bit until you fall in line and do what you’re told.” – @RBReich‘s inner thoughts?

That screenshot needs to be in the replies to every single tweet he posts to remind his followers who he really is.

Clearly little @RBReich has a problem with tall, independent minded, strong women. Let’s be honest, does anyone really believe Bobby could reach high enough to actually make contact?

I expected him to offer an apology. Checked his page and nope, he’s memory holing it.

@UCBerkeley do you approve of your employees calling for violence against women?

The Violence Against Women Act would like to have a word with a certain former Labor Sec

Robert Reich would have to reach up and gently tap on Kyrsten Sinema’s knee to get her attention.

It’s an empty threat from Reich. Unless someone is there to hold the step ladder. 😧
