FAFO: Daytona Beach woman arrested for threatening to shoot Trump

A Florida woman found out the hard way that threatening to take a shot at the president of the United States comes with consequences.

While 21-year-old Allison Albro may or may not have been seriously contemplating shooting President Donald J. Trump with her Glock when she mused about an attempted assassination on social media, such threats are taken very seriously by law enforcement.

Much to her dismay, the Daytona Beach woman now doesn’t find her “joke” very funny after she was arrested over the Instagram threat to the president, who held a local rally on Friday to stump for GOP Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds.

“Going to the trump rally in my city tmr so I can shoot him with my glock! wish me luck guys!!” Albro allegedly wrote, oblivious to the idea that the FBI and Secret Service’s job is to monitor for such threats.

The feds spotted the post and contacted the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, which paid a visit to Albro, along with the members of the Secret Service, and ended up with the joker in handcuffs.

“We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the @VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the @SecretService,” Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a Friday post to X.

“She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device,” Chitwood continued. “I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a ‘joke’ along these lines to think twice.”

“VSO continues to work hand in hand with the Secret Service, FBI and all our law enforcement partners to ensure this presidential visit to Daytona Beach is a safe event for all who attend, and for our whole community,” the sheriff wrote.

Trump has survived at least two assassination attempts, including one that grazed his ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
