Prosecutor contends to court that Hunter was hired by Romanian oligarch in 2015 ‘to influence U.S. government agencies’

Hunter Biden was hired by a Romanian oligarch in 2015 “to attempt to influence U.S. government agencies,” according to federal prosecutors.

These stunning allegations by Special Counsel David Weiss’ team were revealed in a court filing submitted Wednesday in Biden’s notorious federal tax case.

Weiss’ team said in the filing that one of Biden’s former business associates will soon testify about a deal he made with Romanian oligarch Gabriel Popoviciu, who at the time of the deal was reportedly facing criminal bribery and corruption charges at home. He was later convicted of real estate fraud in 2017.

Weiss’ team said that they’ll soon show evidence that Biden and his former business associate “received compensation from a foreign principal [Popoviciu] who was attempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion and cause the United States to investigate the Romanian investigation of [Popoviciu] in Romania.”

In the court filing submitted Wednesday, Weiss’ team accused Biden and his former business associate of agreeing to help Popoviciu via the deal.

However, to avoid getting in trouble with the law and causing “political ramifications” for Biden’s father, who was vice president at the time, Biden and his associate structured the deal so that it “concealed the true nature of the work he was performing,” according to prosecutors.

In other words, they lied to avoid getting in trouble, and all so they could earn an estimated $3 million total split between them from 2015 to 2017.

The good news for Biden is that Weiss intends to let the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violation slip.

“The government does not intend to reference allegations that the defendant violated FARA or improperly coordinated with the Obama Administration,” Wednesday’s filing reads.

“However […] the government will introduce evidence that Business Associate 1 structured a business relationship in an effort to avoid having to register as a foreign agent and that the defendant and his business partners did reach out to government officials, specifically the United States Department of State,” it continues.

These new allegations will be added to the allegations Biden already faces.

“Hunter Biden is charged with failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019 while also filing false tax returns,” according to Fox News. “He allegedly used the funds to live lavishly, including spending millions of dollars on drugs, escorts, luxury cars, and other high-priced items.”

So far he faces three felonies and six misdemeanors in the tax case, though new charges now seem likely.

Prosecutors claim the new allegations are relevant to the tax case because they demonstrate “his state and mind and intent” during the period that he failed to pay his taxes.

“It is also evidence that the defendant’s actions do not reflect someone with a diminished capacity, given that he agreed to attempt to influence U.S. public policy and receive millions of dollars,” the filing reads.

All this comes months after Biden was convicted of felony charges for illegally purchasing a gun in 2018 after lying on a gun-purchase form. He’s slated to go up for sentencing on Nov. 13th, at which point he faces 25 years in prison though he is likely to receive far less time, if any at all.

Responding to these breaking allegations, critics wondered why they’re just now seeing the light of day:
