Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) surprised a lot of people with his strong stand in support of Israel after the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas attacked the Jewish State and killed nearly 1,400 innocent civilians and kidnapped hundreds more.
He also angered many on the left who supported the so-called “resistance fighters.” Particularly with his embrace of posters displaying the names and faces of the Israelis being held hostage by the terrorists — ripping down images of missing Jewish children has become a fad in many Democrat-run American cities.

One of those angry Hamas supporters confronted Fetterman on Sunday as he spoke at a Get Out the Vote rally in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
“Four thousand-plus dead children in Palestine. Nine thousand-plus dead civilians. Get off the stage,” the heckler called out. “You have blood on your hands. Get off the stage.”
Fetterman, who suffered a serious stroke last year, responded to say he could not understand what the man was saying: “The joke is on you. I had a stroke. I can’t fully understand what you’re saying.”

Fetterman has struggled with auditory processing since the stroke and often relies on closed-captioning technology during interviews to understand the reporter’s questions — the disorder results in Fetterman occasionally missing words because he did not process them properly, which appears as though he did not hear the word.
In all reality, the senator should not have been cleared by his doctor to resume “full duty” and he continues to struggle in his role as a U.S. senator, although he has shown progress in his speech abilities as he continues to recover from the stroke.
On the issue of Israel, he has shown the political courage to go against the most radical elements of his party and deserves some credit here — then again, Fetterman’s election will go down in the Republican Hall of Shame, given that the party could not defeat a candidate who literally could not speak.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, including that very point, as seen on X:

I’ll admit it, that was funny

Did he just declare himself unfit for his position?

Actually, that was kind of funny. Fetterman came up with a great way to shut down a protester, using his inability to communicate to his advantage. He still shouldn’t be a Senator where the ability to communicate is actually a requirement to do the job.

All the comments attacking Fetterman. How about running a resident of PA who could have beaten a guy who literally couldn’t speak. Dems should be blasted for not vetting someone like George Santos. Republicans bare the blame for losing to this guy
