Financial expert warns CMT could get Bud Lighted over Jason Aldean move

One financial expert is warning that CMT could be on the brink of getting Bud Lighted over yanking Jason Aldean’s fed-up American anthem, “Try That In A Small Town.”

Country Music Television (CMT) failed to read the room big-time concerning its core demographic and pulled the viral video because the left was screaming that it was “racist” and “pro-lynching,” which is patently ridiculous to anyone who has watched the video. All the montage clips were actually on the news and no part of the song references race or incites violence.

Instead, it highlights how small communities stick together and leftist chaos won’t be tolerated. What has them triggered is a reminder of the “Summer of Love” in 2020 that set American cities on fire and spread violence across the nation. It makes them look bad.

CMT failed to learn from the Bud Light boycott and now may find themselves on the receiving end of one. One financial expert is pointing out that they may have really stepped in it this time given the current atmosphere in America.

“What we’re seeing as a trend in America is that people are exercising their free speech on businesses one way or the other,” entrepreneur Ted Jenkin told Fox News Digital in an interview that issued a wakeup call to CMT.

“When businesses decide to take these actions, they also need to be responsible for the consequences,” Jenkin admonished. “We saw it with Bud Light and other brands, and this could happen to CMT.”

Jenkin is the CEO of oXYGen Financial. He is a business consultant who also hosts the “Shrimp Tank” podcast. The business expert is making the case that “woke” politics aren’t good for businesses and could, in fact, be catastrophic for their bottom line.

“I don’t know whether businesses should be involved in politics, and that’s the real decision they have to make,” Jenkin commented. “Do we want to take a political stand or not? Or are we in the business of selling a product or delivering a service?”

Bud Light has still not recovered from crawling into bed with transgender Dylan Mulvaney who was born a biological male but identifies as female. The company has lost billions over a catastrophic ad campaign featuring Mulvaney and his “365 Days of Girlhood.” It ticked off conservatives and Americans in general who have shunned the brand.

“I think people are just saying, ‘Enough is enough. Don’t force an agenda down my throat, especially when it comes to the products I buy or the TV that I watch,’” Jenkin remarked.

Bud Light’s demographic consumer base is pretty much the same one that CMT has. Americans love Aldean’s song as it reflects the frustrations embroiling the country over leftist policies and they are aggressively defending him after he has been disparaged by progressive liberals.

“During June, CMT was the No. 43 basic cable network and managed only 116,000 average total day viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, so the network can’t afford to lose many fans,” Fox News reported.

Jenkin also noted that there is a “major double standard in America right now” because artists that leftists listen to are given a pass while conservative ones are bashed and censored.

“Ice-T wrote this song many years ago for the movie ‘Colors,’ which was a great movie. And it said, ‘Sucker die for your life when my shotgun scatters, we gangs of L.A. will never die. Just multiply.’ Ice-T played a cop on ‘Law and Order’ here for many years,” Jenkin remarked.

“Was he really promoting gang violence? Is that really what he was promoting, or it was just lyrics in a song that made sense in the movie? This is why sometimes things like this get blown way out of proportion,” he added. “Have the standard of holding people accountable, but just be equal with all of it.”

Aldean came under fire by the left for choosing to film the video at the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee as well. That doesn’t make sense either since a number of music videos and movies have been filmed there.

Jenkin hit the nail on the head when he branded the hypocrisy of the left as “selective accountability.” He contended that it is taking place across our polarized nation.

“We’re very selective about what we want to hold people accountable for, and who we want to hold people accountable for. And that is one of the main, fundamental problems today,” Jenkin stated.

“If we have equal accountability, we’ll have a lot less of these problems. But when we’re selective about it, there are some people that use words that none of us should ever, ever use that are still in songs today and they’re deemed to be acceptable when we’re told these words are not acceptable. So, we need to get rid of this selective accountability,” he concluded.

You can really feel the anger and frustration of Americans currently and perhaps CMT and others should take note:
