Friday in West Palm Beach, Florida, ahead of the president’s brief trip to the Sunshine State, 46-year-old Shannon Depararro Atkins of Okeechobee was arrested. The owner of the bakery “Big Mama’s House of Sweets,” known for his comedic drag persona “Big Momma” and friendship with Casey Anthony, garnered the attention of the FBI after a number of posts reminded “We haven’t had an assassination in years.”
According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, a detective assigned to the FBI Task Force had arrested Atkins during a traffic stop as the individual was being monitored after a tip to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center. During the arrest, the suspect was also alleged to have been in possession of three bags of cocaine in his pocket.
“I’ve been banned from ‘X’, because I said I hope and pray someone kills him. History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years,” read one of the posts highlighted by authorities as another captioned a reference to Inauguration Day as a “Day of Mourning for USA” with the statement, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America.”

“America needs one good bullet to be saved,” Atkins was alleged to have posted to Facebook on Jan. 19 as West Palm Beach Police Chief Tony Araujo spoke to the kinds of “violent rhetoric” alleged to have been on the man’s social media accounts.
“Lincoln, JFK, Reagan, Martin Luther King, and Trump. Unfortunately, one is still alive,” said the chief of one post that described how “All stood up to Democrats…All were shot.”
“That gives you a flavor of some of the posts that this gentleman posted,” said Araujo as Atkins was facing a second-degree felony charge of written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.
In their own reporting on the arrest, the New York Post detailed that the suspect was known to be friends with Antony, often referred to as “tot mom” after she was charged with the murder of her toddler daughter Caylee Anthony in 2008, only to be acquitted during her high-profile trial in 2011.
“Yes, they are friends,” one of Anthony’s friends confirmed to the newspaper. “She always said that he was really funny and she liked to hang around him because he made her laugh so much.”
“She doesn’t like Trump either, but I don’t think their friendship is based on that,” added the anonymous friend. “I think they just have a similar sense of humor.”
When asked if the arrest would impact the friendship, the source told the Post, “She is very loyal. It’ll take more than an arrest for her to turn her back on him. She’s going to remain close to him.”
The arrest of Atkins came as a school district on Long Island, New York had notified parents that a junior high school science teacher had been suspended for posting about how she hoped Trump supporters would die.
