Ridicule rained down on a Florida-based LGBTQ+ group over its “extraordinary step” of putting out a travel advisory to protest the “extremist policies” of Governor Ron DeSantis, warning members of the very special demographic that dominates modern American society and culture to reconsider any plans to travel or relocate to the Sunshine State, a pathetic cry for attention that only succeeded in making it look silly.
Florida Democrats and their left-wing foot soldiers have been reduced to such ridiculous stunts now that they have been busted back to zero by voters in terms of actual political power with only unruly mob protests and temper tantrums of the type that alienated most of the electorate in the first place remaining as options to make an impact, and the group, Equality Florida made its case for members of the homosexual community to avoid the state as a non-safe area.
In a lengthy statement posted to its website, the group declared, “Equality Florida took the unprecedented step of issuing a travel advisory to individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and students warning that Florida may not be a safe place to visit or take up residence. The advisory comes after the passage of laws that are hostile to the LGBTQ+ community, restrict access to reproductive health care, repeal gun safety laws and allow untrained, unpermitted carry, and foment racial prejudice. The Governor has also weaponized state agencies to impose sanctions against businesses large and small that disagree with his attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

“As an organization that has spent decades working to improve Florida’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive place to live work and visit, it is with great sadness that we must respond to those asking if it is safe to travel to Florida or remain in the state as the laws strip away basic rights and freedoms,” said Nadine Smith, the organization’s executive director.

“Governor Ron DeSantis, who has made the extremist policies the centerpiece of his presidential campaign strategy, has weaponized state agencies to silence critics and impose sanctions on large and small companies that dissent with his culture war agenda or disagree with his attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion,” the group wrote in its statement on the travel advisory, followed by a litany of overblown grievances in the form of a list of laws and policies that they disagree with.
“Woke LGBTQI+ group, Equality Florida, has issued a ‘travel warning’ for the state of Florida,” wrote Oli London, the author of “Gender Madness,” the upcoming book on his own personal struggles with gender and self-identity. “The group, which pushes for teens to have double mastectomies and genital reassignment surgery in the name of gender identity, is now advising all members of the LGBT community not to travel to Florida citing ‘risks posed to the health, safety, and freedom.’”

“Twitter users reacted to the ridiculous travel warning with some noting that similar alerts weren’t issued for the dystopian, crime-ridden hellscapes that are under the control of Democrats where any person, LGBTQ+ or not, risks their life every time that they venture out onto streets where violent thugs have been allowed to run wild, and others just mocking its absurdity.

It is unknown whether Equality Florida drew its inspiration from another perpetually aggrieved identity-based organization but last month, Florida’s chapter of the NAACP called for a travel advisory, falsely claiming that black people’s rights were being rolled back in the Sunshine State.

“Taken in their totality, Florida’s slate of laws and policies targeting basic freedoms and rights pose a serious risk to the health and safety of those traveling to the state. We regret that these attacks have already led many to flee the state and are driving others to consider relocation,” Equality Florida added. “And, in a state whose economy is fueled by visitors from around the world, it is with great sadness that Equality Florida has had to take the extraordinary step of responding to inquiries by issuing an official advisory warning about the risks of travel to the state.”
