A video of a very appreciative man from the small town of Arcadia, Florida, which is just inland from where Hurricane Ian made landfall last week, is making the rounds online for its frank assessment of Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Arcadia has a population of around 8,000 people and felt the effects of the massive storm firsthand when the Peace River overflowed, flooding roads and bridges in DeSoto County. Homes and businesses were destroyed and SR 70, the main roadway through town, was shut down. Adding to the problem was a limited supply of gas, which created massive lines at gas stations with waits as long as three hours, according to WUFT.
And that’s where the man in the video comes into play. Joined by a friend, he motions to a fuel tanker in the background and said, “Say sh*t about DeSantis, but that gas is here in Arcadia!”
“I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll, but it’s here in Arcadia. So ya’ll know who we voting for,” he added. “I don’t know about the rest of you motherfu**ers, but I’m voting for DeSantis — and I’m a Democrat!”

“So ya’ll can call it what the f**k you want to call it.”
Typical of small-town southern manners others might not quite get, when a woman off camera reminds the man that there are children present, he humbly apologizes: “Ok, I’m sorry, ma’am. I’m sorry.”
While the corporate media is engaged in a campaign to use Hurricane Ian to besmirch Gov. DeSantis — we’ve seen this movie before with George W. Bush and Hurricane Katrina — hyping what they claim to be late evacuation orders in hard-hit Lee County, he is on the ground directing recovery efforts.
The popular Republican governor was even seen slinging hash for emergency workers at a South Florida Waffle House.
