Tucker accuses Blinken of fessing up to Nord Stream sabotage: ‘That’s an admission…there is no off ramp now’

President Joe Biden and his allies have talked a big talk throughout the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but events on the ground have continued to signal an effort toward escalation and on Friday, by Tucker Carlson’s assessment, Secretary of State Antony Blinken came as close as he ever will to admitting we’ve been poking the bear, and the only outcome may be “total war.”

Last Tuesday, reports began circulating that the Nord Stream pipelines that carry natural gas from Russia to Germany had been sabotaged by unknown actors. Biden and corporate media were quick to implicate Russian President Vladimir Putin though all parties admitted there was no evidence to indicate who might have been behind the damage.

However, what was immediately clear was Putin’s alleged culpability lacked rationale as the pipelines, along with being critical to the economic support of Moscow, arguably provided Russia with the most significant leverage they had in the ongoing conflict.

Monday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the Fox News host contrasted charges levied by the likes of former CIA Director John Brennan with Blinken’s remarks during a joint press event with Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly Friday.

“Now Tony Blinken, by contrast, is not an expert. He’s a failed rock musician who somehow became the secretary of state of the United States. He’s, of course, happy to lie, does it a lot,” Carlson charged, “but he’s not especially good at it. At the beginning of last week, Blinken was pretending to be baffled by the sabotage of Nord Stream. No one benefits from this, he said. Not in a million years could he imagine. Who would do something like that? It was just unfathomable. That was Tuesday. By Friday, Blinken had dropped the post and admitted that actually, we did it. Now, Tony Blinken didn’t use quite those words, but there’s no mistaking what he meant.”

The host then played a clip of the secretary from Friday where it was contended the pipeline damage was, “a tremendous opportunity to, once and for all, remove the dependence on Russian energy and thus to take away from Vladimir Putin the weaponization of energy as a means of advancing his imperial designs. That’s very significant and that offers tremendous strategic opportunity for the years to come.”

“Now we don’t have a super long attention span,” Carlson snarked at the suddenness of the apparent flip-flop, “but this was pretty compressed in the space of like four days. So last Tuesday, the largest act of industrial terrorism in our lifetimes was a baffling crime, said Tony Blinken, but by Friday, that same event had become ‘a tremendous opportunity,’ in fact, a tremendous strategic opportunity for the years to come.”

“It’s a good thing. Now that’s an admission. That’s the clearest admission we’re ever going to get,” he declared.

“No one could miss it, least of all the Russians. The Biden administration is responsible,” the host asserted, “either directly or through proxies, for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines and the environmental catastrophe and the economic collapse that will certainly follow. That is true. It’s done.”

Worse than that, Carlson went on to conclude, “This act leaves us, the United States, with no option but total war with Russia.”

“There is no off-ramp now. There is no way out,” he continued. “We are all in, no matter what that means, no matter where it goes…it’s been happening for months in slow motion. It’s been hidden from public view by the near-total blackout imposed by American media outlets.”

As Carlson indicated, in March Turkey had endeavored to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia and Putin was ready to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but Biden’s gaffes across Europe during the same time period already suggested that wasn’t the outcome the White House was after. While speaking from the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland, Biden appeared to call for the ousting of Putin by force as he stated, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

“Zelenskky is a client of the Biden administration,” Carlson claimed, “which runs his country, and ideologues within the Biden administration did not want a negotiated peace in Ukraine. They wanted all along, and it’s very clear now, a regime change war against Russia. Period. So, that’s what they are now getting.”
