Footage of country star’s arrest following tense exchange with officers released: ‘I’ll go to jail, let’s do it’

A country star’s arrest in Oklahoma left him admitting “I was a complete spoiled a**hole” as a dashcam video went viral.

“I’ll go to jail, let’s do it.”

Thursday, an alleged speeding violation for musician Zach Bryan’s security guard escalated to a tense exchange between the artist and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in Craig County.

As reported by KOCO, the white SUV driven by a guard had been pulled over and the trooper for the OHP was in the process of citing the individual when a black pickup truck parked beside it, as seen in the dashcam video. After a moment, Bryan, a 27-year-old U.S. Navy veteran, could be seen stepping out of his truck where he began to speak with the driver.

Immediately, the trooper, seen seated in his patrol vehicle, got out to instruct the musician that he was “interfering with officer discharge of duties.”

Bryan, who had questioned why the process was taking so long was then told, “You either get back in your truck or go to jail, I don’t care which,” to which the entertainer snapped back, “I’ll go to jail, let’s do it.”

Promptly after the handcuffs were placed on the country star, his tune turned apologetic, but the trooper was having none of it and escorted the arrestee to the front seat of the patrol vehicle.

Interior footage showed Bryan complaining about the tightness of the cuffs and boasting about his relationship with law enforcement in Tulsa while he contended if the trooper didn’t remove the cuffs “it’s going to be a mistake.”

“F*cking cops are out of hand, truly,” he railed.

Shortly thereafter, the artist was transported to the Craig County Jail where he was booked and later released at which point he took to X to say his piece as his mugshot had already begun to circulate online.

“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize,” he wrote. “They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”

That post was followed by a video where Bryan attempted to lay out the circumstances that had led to his short fuse, including having been pulled over himself for speeding which resulted in temporary detainment after refusal to give the officer his address when identification was requested.

“I just wanted to be completely transparent for everyone who listens to my music about what happened yesterday with me getting arrested and everything — because I don’t want the internet to do what the internet does and like, I don’t know, make stuff up,” began the musician’s story.

Another post followed on X as the artist went on to clarify, “To be clear in the video I posted, I’m not trying to save face or act like the good guy, I was a complete spoiled a**hole to these police officers and I’ll spend the next few weeks trying my best to right my wrongs and take back what I said. I do respect police officers and I made a massive mistake. I am embarrassed for myself, my family and the people I love but all I can do now [is] sincerely apologize.”

Reactions were positive to Bryan’s admission of guilt and for taking responsibility for his own actions.
