Mark Zuckerberg’s $1 million donation to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund was not taken well on the left.
Former “Obama bro” Jon Favreau slammed the Meta CEO for his recent outreach to the president-elect, calling the move “disgusting” and accusing him of being in the “Trump business.”
“There are few humans more full of sh-t than Mark Zuckerberg for like all of the values he professed that Facebook had and that his company has and all this bullsh-t,” the Pod Save America co-host said in a meltdown over the topic on Friday’s show.
“Fine, make peace, whatever. Donate a million dollars to inauguration when Meta has not donated money to any other inauguration? Now you’re like in the Trump business. Now you’re just giving him money,” he added.

The Wall Street Journal reported on the stunning donation that was confirmed by the company, calling it a “departure” for Zuckerberg and noting it came on the heels of “an election campaign in which Trump threatened to punish the tech tycoon if he tried to influence the election against him. ”
“Zuckerberg’s efforts to strengthen ties—which began years earlier—included a November dinner with Trump on the patio of his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., that focused on general relationship-building,” WSJ reported.
However, before the dinner, Zuckerberg’s team had already reportedly told the inaugural committee of the incoming donation. Neither Zuckerberg nor Meta donated to the inaugural fund after Trump’s 2016 victory or Biden’s 2020 win, according to public records.
Favreau lamented what he saw as hypocrisy as he called out Zuckerberg for trying to make nice with Trump in the wake of the election victory.
“How many companies after January 6 were like never again we’re not going to donate to, some of them said they weren’t going to donate to Republicans after,” he railed.
“You’re not just like not saying mean things about him or even saying nice things, you’re giving him money?” he continued, accusing Zuckerberg of having “no self-respect.”
Zuckerberg had said that Trump’s response to the assassination attempt on his life in July was “one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory,” Zuckerberg wrote on Threads after the election. “We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration.”
