Chad Alan-Carr, a former Pennsylvania mayor, was arrested for child sex crimes shortly after his resignation.
Former Gettysburg Mayor Chad Alan-Carr was just two weeks into his term as the city’s mayor when he suddenly resigned over personal matters. The 48-year-old is now being charged with felony counts of sexual abuse of children and criminal solicitation to commit sexual abuse of children, as well as a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors, court documents indicate.
On Friday, Adams County District Attorney Brian Sinnett claimed that Carr requested “inappropriate material” from a minor between the years of 2011 and 2013. He is also accused of grooming the child while acting as a volunteer for the theater community.
“We are alleging and believe to be true that Chad-Alan Carr had groomed this particular individual from a time even before they were 16 years old,” said Sinnett, according to Fox43. “He developed a relationship with that person, groomed that person, and ultimately was able to successfully entice that person into sharing nude photographic images, nude video images, and inappropriate criminal behavior.”
“Carr allegedly groomed the boy and enticed him into sharing nude video and photo images. Other charges could not have been filed against Carr because the statute of limitations had already run out, Sinnett said,” Fox News reported. Authorities pointed out that the timeline of these alleged crimes coincided with his time volunteering at the Gettysburg High School and acting as the executive director of the Gettysburg Community Theater, which gave him access to minors.
The victim in the case entered the local theater scene at a young age, and was reportedly treated differently from the other children by Carr during the Sophomore and Junior years of high school. Carr allegedly treated the minor with kindness and attention that he did not extend to others, and the two kept in touch over Facebook Messenger and Skype when the boy was 16 years old.
“He said the Skype conversations were ‘late night talks’ that became sexual. Those conversations lasted until the victim turned 17,” Fox43 added.
The DA also noted that other allegations of “inappropriate conduct” by Carr were reported, but none of them rose to the level of criminal prosecution.
The former mayor of Gettysburg, Chad Alan Carr, who helped ruin Gettysburg by making the town more about “LGBTQ” bullshit instead of the historic battle, and promoting “pride flags” everywhere, was arrested for being a p*dophile. You can’t make this shit up! pic.twitter.com/mEXolOWQHD

Carr also resigned as the president of Gettysburg Pride, a local LGBT organization. This was confirmed by Unitarian Universalism of Gettysburg President Kristen Eyssell in a statement.
“I understand that he has resigned from a number of roles, including as President of Gettysburg Pride,” said Eyssell. “I believe that there are people working to support and sustain that organization, but in the meantime, we want the event to continue.”
