A quartet of House Democrats has introduced their own resolution condemning the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the far-left radical group that has backed a series of primary winners this summer.
The Monday resolution from Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.), and Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.) comes in response to a similar GOP measure introduced last week by Rep. Jeff Crank (R-Colo.), who sought to get Democrats on record about DSA, which has leveraged affordability concerns to mount a power grab in Congress.
“I keep hearing people like Hakeem Jeffries and others in the Congress saying that they oppose the DSA. Let’s see if they’re willing to vote for a resolution that would oppose them,” the Colorado Republican told Fox News on Friday.
However, Crank’s resolution included a version of the SAVE America Act, election integrity legislation that would require voter ID, which is a non-starter with Democrats who are unified in their opposition. “Strike the preamble and insert the following,” the Democrat resolution began.
NEW — @RepJoshG, @RepScholten, @RepTomSuozzi and @RepMoskowitz have their own anti-DSA/socialism amendment in rules. Rs have one too.

“Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has, time and time again, collapsed into communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and repressive dictatorships;” began the Democrats’ amendment put out by Congressman Gottheimer’s office.
The resolution then lists some of the atrocities that took place under countries that took the great leap of faith in socialism only to invite the repression and mass murder that results from the poisonous ideology.
Included in the text was the “forced collectivization” of the USSR and its resultant induced starvation of millions, deportations, and a “sprawling network of gulag labor camps,” and the millions of lives lost under Chinese Chairman Mao’s “Great Leap Forward.”
Also referenced was the murderous Cambodian Khmer Rouge regime, which killed a quarter of the South Asian country’s population on the way to its great socialist utopia in the 1970s.
It goes on to lay out the DSA’s own “Great Leap Forward” plans for America, including the abolition of capitalism, prisons and police departments as well as defunding the military.
“That the House of Representatives condemns and denounces socialism in all forms, including the Democratic Socialists of America, and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States,” the resolution concludes.
The resolution dials up the pressure on House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), who has yet to forcefully condemn the DSA, which is nibbling away at the soul of the Democratic Party.
Instead, the feckless “Dollar Store Obama” has only spouted very tepid criticism of the increasingly dangerous socialist takeover.
Hakeem Jeffries claims he’s not in support of the current DSA agenda, but he welcomes DSA members into the House Democratic Caucus if they win in November—especially those flipping seats and “pushing back against Donald Trump’s extremism”:

“I don’t support the DSA agenda, as has been articulated by the DSA itself,” Jeffries told NBC’s Kristen Welker during an appearance on “Meet the Press” last month.
“Now, you’re going to have individual members who have been elected in Democratic primaries and, if they are elected in the general in November, will be part of the House Democratic Caucus. It’s going to be a broad caucus,” he added, practically rolling out the welcome mat for the socialists who want his head on a pike.
Unlike the four House Democrats, others – especially leadership – aren’t taking the threat seriously, while some are openly embracing it, notably Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who recently renewed her DSA membership after a seven year lapse, banking her political aspirations on their being the party’s future.
“Democrats are focused on bringing costs down for American families, keeping our communities safe, and calling out corruption in this administration. The fringe DSA does not speak for us,” Gottheimer said during a recent CNN appearance.
