Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer revealed that he received his at-home COVID-19 tests, but there was a massive problem hidden in the fine print.
Hemmer praised the federal government for the program which allows people to apply to receive free at-home COVID tests, and was pleased with the speed with which the United States Postal Service (USPS) delivered them. However, when he flipped the boxes over, buried in the fine print were the words “Made in China.”
“I got mine yesterday,” Hemmer noted, holding up the test. “All four of them came. Congrats U.S. government. U.S. Postal Service did a great job. Got my four tests. And on the back of the fine print, Dana [Perino], it is made in China.”
“Of course,” Perino replied.
The rapid-tests are the product of iHealth Labs Inc. While the company is headquartered in California, iHealth is part of a larger Chinese parent company Andon Health Co. Ltd., as reported by Reuters.
The Biden administrated that not every one of the COVID tests sent out were made in China, but because the United States didn’t have enough supply to meet demand, kits were sourced from other countries, including China.
“We are procuring as many US-made at-home tests as are available to purchase, while also purchasing additional, FDA authorized said an administration official to Fox Digital News in a statement on Tuesday. “Together this ensures that we are making available as many at-home tests for the American people as possible and importantly, we’re doing so in a way that ensures we are not interfering with other channels where people can get at home tests, including through their states, pharmacies and online retailers.”
Twitter users also noted the issue on their own tests:

Got my “free” COVID tests. What a joke. Not only are they made in China but the “sealed” tube was open and went everywhere. Theoretically, I could only use one test because of the lack of solution. 🙄 pic.twitter.com/dn18DGhnsi

Got our “free” Covid tests from the federal government in the mail today. Of course they’re made in China. So what this means is we the taxpayers are borrowing money from China to pay China as a result of a pandemic that China caused. pic.twitter.com/nVGFUnLH7a
