One thing is certain about what is frequently referred to as the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, a Republican president would have been finished as a result of the de facto surrender to the Taliban.
From the deaths of 13 U.S. service members to an innocent Afghan family being droned in Kabul, resulting in 10 deaths, the media had little interest in dwelling on the story once the last U.S. military troops were out. Never mind that hundreds, perhaps thousands of U.S. citizens were left behind. And that was not all that President Joe Biden opted to leave behind, as the U.S. abandoned over $84 billion in military equipment and weaponry in Afghanistan. Largess that instantly made the Taliban one of the best-equipped militaries in the region.
With America pouring over $2 billion of aid into Ukraine to help the Eastern European country fight for its freedom in the face of the Russian invasion, the abandoned military supplies take on added meaning. For the record, much of the equipment was originally supplied to Afghan security forces.
Not that the media is eager to remind Americans. But New York businessman Feliz Sater was willing to share the massive bounty gifted to the Taliban, citing the Government Accountability Office.
“Thanks to the Government Accountability Office, we now have a clear picture of just how much U.S. military equipment has fallen into the hands of the Taliban, thanks to this Administration’s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan,” he tweeted.
Sater then followed with a list — supported by Task & Purpose — that boggles the mind, as seen here:
Vehicles: You’ve probably seen the footage of the Taliban riding around in our humvees.
We left a total of 75,898 vehicles:
42,604 tactical vehicles
22,174 humvees
8,998 medium tactical vehicles
1,005 recovery vehicles
928 mine-resistant vehicles
189 armored tanks— Felix Sater (@felixsater) April 12, 2022
And you can throw a couple thousand night-vision goggles, surveillance drones, and communication devices on that list as well.
Price tag: In total, it adds up to nearly $84 BILLION DOLLARS in tax-payer-funded U.S. military equipment.

Turns out, Ukraine had military transport aircraft in Afghanistan as the country crumbled, evacuating some of its citizens. Michael Caputo, who served as assistant secretary of public affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services in the Trump administration, took note of that in a tweet:
As the Biden Retreat was gaining steam, Ukraine had a dozen transport aircraft in Afghanistan. Huge, cavernous planes for ferrying weapons. They left the country empty.
Biden ran and screwed anti-Taliban Afghans and Ukrainians in the same surrender. https://t.co/NLYcK7rTnX

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
If Trump did this, armed terrorists and our enemies, @SpeakerPelosi would have justifiably impeached him, the American “news” media would have crucified him and every lib/prog/Dem in America would destroy him.
But #LetsGoBrandon did this, so they are all silent as church mice. https://t.co/Wv2HfkZsGM

At least they didn’t get their hands on the equity, diversity and inclusion guidelines.

Perhaps the Taliban could show a little love by sending half that stuff to Ukraine.
