Garth Brooks’ new bar to serve Bud Light: ‘If you’re an a**hole, there are plenty of other places’

Country legend Garth Brooks is opening a new bar in Nashville called “Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk” and he has declared that he will proudly sell Bud Light there, telling anyone who doesn’t like it that they are an “a**hole” and can go somewhere else.

He claimed he will be selling “every brand of beer” in an interview with Billboard.

“I want it to be the Chick-fil-A of honky-tonks … I want it to be a place you feel safe in, I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another. And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make,” Brooks asserted. “Our thing is this: If you [are let] into this house, love one another. If you’re an a**hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”

There are other places that don’t sell Bud Light in Nashville due to its hand-holding with transgender Dylan Mulvaney. Country singer John Rich has a bar there called “Redneck Riviera” and he no longer sells Bud Light because of it. There’s also “Kid Rock’s Big A** Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse” in Nashville that refuses to sell Bud Light due to the controversy.

When Brooks was asked if he wanted to clarify which bars he was referring to by name, he wouldn’t say.

“No, but I will tell you this,” he noted. “The reason why Lower Broadway is a blessing and a curse, the good and bad, is the police presence down there. You’ve gotta love this city because it’s a big city attitude with a little, little town kind of love in it. This is a beautiful place, and Nashville is going to be boiling for the next 20 years.”

According to Taste of Country, “Brooks’ bar and entertainment venue will include an adjacent Metro Nashville Police Department substation, a deliberate choice made so ‘everybody can see it’ when they are in the area.”

Bud Light has been boycotted by millions of Americans over the transgender issue. But this is a hill it appears that Garth Brooks is ready to die on over his pro-LGBTQ support.

“The customers aren’t going to order it,” John Rich told Fox News Digital in an interview, referring to his bar. “I’m not going to stock it. We’ve only got limited area. I’ve got a limited bar. It’s like… I’ve got to put beer and whiskey and vodkas up here that people want to purchase and they want to support… And brother, I can tell you right now, it’s a vicious attitude toward Bud Light.”

Kid Rock was blunt in a video he made concerning Bud Light. He didn’t hold back in the least.

“Let me say something to all of you and be as clear and concise as possible,” he said before blowing away a case of Bud Light. “F*** Bud Light, and f*** Anheuser-Busch.”

Bud Light has lost roughly $27 billion in market value since April 1st when it first aired an ad with transgender Dylan Mulvaney, according to Outkick. And it is only getting worse for the company. In many places, they can’t sell the beer at all and are having to buy it back. They don’t even seem to be able to give it away these days.

According to Fox Business, for the week ending May 27, NielsenIQ data from Bump Williams Consulting showed that Bud Light posted a 23.9% decrease in sales on a dollar basis compared to a year ago. The Anheuser-Busch-owned brand’s sales have plummeted 24.5% in the past four weeks. Bud Light is no longer number one in beer sales for the US. Constellation Brands’ Modelo Especial now owns that spot, according to CBS News.

If the trend of 20% sales declines continues in the period leading up to July 4, some retailers “are going to be forced to start making shelf space reallocations,” Bump Williams, CEO of Bump Williams Consulting, told FOX Business on Tuesday.

Twitter was not impressed and Brooks may find his profits severely impacted by a beer choice:
