‘Go f—k yourself’: Tucker reportedly lashes out at WaPo reporter when son’s name is dropped in salacious story

The ties between corporate media and establishment politicians in Washington, D.C. run deep, but when Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s son got name-dropped amidst behind-the-scenes posturing for leadership positions ahead of the next Congress, his choice message was said to include a hearty “Go f— yourself.”

With Republicans expected to take the majority of at least the House of Representatives after the November midterm election, the contest for control will shift from the broader left versus right debate to the GOP-centric status quo against the increasingly conservative base. The jockeying includes who might be favored for majority whip which recently devolved when an anonymous GOP strategist reportedly called out Rep. Jim Banks (Ind.) by naming Carlson’s son, Buckley.

The Daily Beast had reported, “Deep down, he dies to be liked by the Establishment. He hires Tucker Carlson’s son, a 24-year-old kid, to be his communications director,” a GOP strategist said of Buckley Carlson who had reportedly been hired in 2019 as a staff assistant to Banks.

Banks is a likely competitor for whip against National Republican Congressional Committee chair Rep. Tom Emmer (Minn.), and Axios laid out Carlson’s supposed reaction to learning his son’s name had been dragged into the story.

“According to four sources briefed on their Friday morning phone call, Carlson told Emmer he needed to name the staffer who brought up Buckley Carlson–or Carlson would have no other choice but to blame Emmer himself.” the outlet reported.

“Emmer repeatedly asserted to Carlson that his office had nothing to do with the background quote about Carlson’s son. Carlson was unpersuaded. He made clear to Emmer that he now had a personal problem with him,” it went on and added, “In an effort to pacify Carlson, Emmer worked to distance his office from the quote–and even to shift blame to another member of leadership’s staff, according to two sources familiar with his private comments.”

As corporate media latched onto the story as a means to target both Republicans and Carlson, one of their favorite boogeymen, The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple reached out to the Fox News host for comment and used the pointed response to further denigrate the father.

“Asked for comment Sunday about his call to Emmer, Carlson projected a similar sentiment to the Erik Wemple Blog: ‘Normal people understand it’s wrong to go after a man’s family. But you don’t because you’re a soulless ghoul who literally works for Jeff Bezos. Go f— yourself.’ Thin skin; no sense of proportion; a compulsion to attack; a reliance on conspiratorial thinking as a way of explaining the world: That quote captures the essential aspects of Tucker Carlson, none of them pretty.”

Carlson was not without his defenders as Donald Trump Jr. reacted to the news and wrote, “It was bad enough that RINO Tom Emmer had his henchmen attack Tucker Carlson’s 25 year old son to the Daily Beast, but now Emmer is trying to throw the staff of another member of Congress under the bus to cover his own a**? What a pathetic coward.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) also chimed in, posting, “I stand with Buckley Carlson.” Attorney Jenna Ellis also spoke out against those using Carlson’s reaction as another means to attack the Fox News host stating, “Uh, if you don’t see the problem here, you are exactly why @TuckerCarlson was absolutely right to respond how he did.”

For his part, Carlson did not address the matter on his program. However, in the past, he has taken smears of himself by corporate media in stride.
