‘Go Meemaw!’ Roseanne is back with new star-studded show after Hollywood snub

Roseanne Barr is back! The actress/comedian is launching a new show eight years after ABC dropped her over a tweet mocking key Obama lieutenant Valerie Jarrett.

Barr will star as a patriotic Texas prepper grandmother in ‘Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable,’ with legendary actor Randy Quaid playing her husband, Drea de Matteo (Sopranos) playing her daughter, and Omar Gooding (brother of Academy Award-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr.) as the son-in-law. Actor Jon Lovitz will also have a guest role.

Shot quietly in Austin, “Meemaw” battles a criminal empire while planning a wild bat mitzvah. The semi-autobiographical show is expected to take shots at both the left and the right.

“Meemaw is coming and no one is safe,” Barr posted on X, in response to an article from the New York Post.

Quaid shared the following post on X:

De Matteo also responded, with a bit more detail on what to expect: “Holy Shittttt—- here we GOOOOO! Thank God the cat is out of the bag— that was a hard secret to keep! Everybody join our circus!! We do not disappoint—- we ARE the new normal – wild AF! Roseanne is everyone’s spirit animal now n forever! Soooo happy I’m MeeMaws daughter!”

Barr reportedly funded the 8-episode series herself, through private investors, after Hollywood turned its nose up on the project.

One thing is certain: with Randy Quaid on board, the show will not be boring — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
