California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democratic leaders attended Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and few if any were in compliance with the state’s universal indoor mask mandate, which was implemented in December and was extended to run through Feb. 15.

In addition to the state mandate, SoFi Stadium has a mask policy requiring all fans to mask up unless they are eating or drinking, Fox News reported.

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Magic Johnson busted his pals when he shared photos on Twitter posing indoors with Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and San Francisco Mayor London Breed. In a couple of the photos, some are seen holding masks in their hands instead of wearing them.

“Hanging out at SoFi Stadium today!” the NBA Hall of Famer tweeted after the contest between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.

Newsom has a history of ignoring rules he forces on California residents, as seen when he was photographed at the swanky French Laundry restaurant in 2020 without a mask. Yet, the Democrat survived a recall vote and has since doubled down on many pandemic controls.

Oh, and there’s this:

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio was shown on the Fox Sports broadcast of the game wearing his mask as a chin diaper, while actress Jessica Alba was seen with no mask in sight.

And the list of celebrities, stars and even rappers goes on and on — note Alba in the background of the second tweet below:

While it’s clear the mask requirement was not being enforced, schools are still enforcing mask mandates and the pushback on the hypocrisy was rather intense.

Speaking of hypocrisies, while the NFL tested players for COVID-19 throughout the season, with several games postponed in mid-December due to the high number of players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the league issued a memo two weeks ago informing the eight postseason teams that remained that neither vaccinated nor unvaccinated players would be subjected to daily testing going forward.

Here’s but a few of the responses to the story from Twitter:
