‘He’s so creepy’: Biden’s remark about 4-year-old girl released by Hamas draws scrutiny

With the release Sunday of 4-year-old U.S.-Israeli citizen Abigail Idan, the first American being held hostage by the terrorist group Hamas, President Biden scrambled before the media to take credit for her release.

And while that may be expected, given that we are fast approaching a presidential election, the 81-year-old president appeared to go off-script after sharing the details of the young girl’s horrific ordeal, uttering remarks that many saw as creepy, if not downright embarrassing.

“Two days ago, two days ago, one of our fellow Americans, a little girl named Abigail, turned 4 years old. She spent her birthday, that birthday … held hostage by Hamas. Today, she’s free, and Jill and I, together with so many Americans, are praying for the fact that she is going to be alright. She’s free, and she’s in Israel now,” Biden said.

“You know her mom was killed in front of her when her kibbutz was attacked by Hamas terrorists on October the 7th,” he explained. “Abigail ran to her dad then, who was then gunned down, gunned down as well, while using his body to shield little Abigail. She then ran to a neighbor for help, where they were all taken hostage, that entire house of neighbors was taken hostage by Hamas and held for 50 days.”

“What she endured is unthinkable. Abigail was among 13 hostages released today from Gaza under the brokered [deal] and sustained intense U.S. diplomacy,” Biden added. “She’s now safely in Israel. And we continue to press and expect for additional Americans [to] be released as well. And we will not stop working until every hostage is returned to their loved ones.”

Had Biden left well enough alone, the statement would have sufficed. But he didn’t.

After detailing the 4-year-old’s plight, which involved witnessing both parents being slaughtered by savage Palestinian terrorists, the president concluded with a chuckle of delight to say, “Thank God she’s home. I just can’t imagine the enjoyment… I wish I were there to hold her.”

Given Biden’s well documented history of awkward, uncomfortable moments involving young children — Hunter Biden allegedly had his father listed in his phone by the name “Pedo Peter” — you might think the president would be more guarded in making such comments.

Then again, given that the media continues to run full cover for him, perhaps not… here’s a quick sampling of responses to Biden’s remarks, as seen on X:
