House Dem: Trump’s border policy includes moat with gators, bombing Mexico, shooting migrants

A House Democrat claimed that Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump’s border control measures would include several outlandish things including a moat filled with presumably starving alligators, a bombing campaign against Mexico, and the shooting of illegal aliens.

During a Tuesday meeting of the House Homeland Security Committee to begin the process of impeaching President Joe Biden’s border chief DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) whipped out one of the visual aids typically used by performative Demss, this one showing a massive reptile to bolster his falsehoods about Trump.

“I want to remind the public that Donald Trump and House Republicans also have their own ideas for the border. So let’s review the majority’s border ideas that they’ve actually presented, here they are,” he said, gesturing to the poster of his scaly friend.

“Donald Trump has actually said that he wants to build alligator moats along the border, that’s one of his incredible ideas,” the congressman continued. “Another idea that Donald Trump has promoted is he actually wants to electrify the border fence, and maybe even put some spikes on the border. That’s another Donald Trump and MAGA majority border idea.”

“Another idea which I’m not sure how well it would go is he wants to actually bomb northern Mexico with missiles, that’s another Trump idea,” Garcia added. “And finally I think one of the ones that I think is the most grotesque is suggestions that instead, maybe we should just shoot migrants, in the legs, as they cross the border…”

While Garcia didn’t offer any sourcing for his claims it seems likely that he was referring to a 2019 New York Times report that a moat filled with snakes and alligators could be among the options to serve as a deterrent to border crossers.

“Privately, the president had often talked about fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators, prompting aides to seek a cost estimate. He wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh. After publicly suggesting that soldiers shoot migrants if they threw rocks, the president backed off when his staff told him that was illegal. But later in a meeting, aides recalled, he suggested that they shoot migrants in the legs to slow them down. That’s not allowed either, they told him,” the paper claimed were topics at an Oval Office meeting with the then-president and “astonished” White House advisors.

Trump dismissed the story as fake news.

“Now the press is trying to sell the fact that I wanted a Moat stuffed with alligators and snakes, with an electrified fence and sharp spikes on top, at our Southern Border. I may be tough on Border Security, but not that tough. The press has gone Crazy. Fake News!” Trump said on Twitter which has since been re-branded as X.”

X users reacted to Garcia’s grandstanding.

Others seemed to think that there could be some potential to the ideas.

Garcia also couldn’t resist playing the Hitler card, a sad example of the state of dumbed-down political discourse in an America where the one thing that truly bears a striking resemblance to Nazi Germany is a Democrat-controlled media propaganda machine that Joseph Goebbels himself would be in awe of.

“When you say that you want to pollute, that immigrants are polluting this country, that to me— and the blood of this country, that is absolutely reminiscent of things that Adolf Hitler said,” Garcia stated.

Trump hasn’t really said that he’d do such things – at least not publicly – but he has vowed to start rounding up and deporting the illegal aliens and future Democrat voters as soon as he is sworn in if he wins the election.
