House Republican moves to boot Kamala Harris from border czar job on anniversary of appointment

U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) reintroduced a resolution on Friday that seeks to remove Vice President Kamala Harris from her position as border czar as the situation worsens and continues to spiral out of control under her watch two years after she was appointed by President Biden to contain it.

“Today, Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) reintroduced a resolution calling on President Biden to remove Vice President Kamala Harris from her role as Border Czar. The resolution demands that a competent leader be appointed who will prioritize the safety of Americans, acknowledge that border security is national security, ensure Customs and Border Protection (CBP) receives the resources needed to execute their job effectively, and stop the flood of fentanyl pouring across our border,” a statement from Jackson’s office proclaimed.

“Jackson’s resolution comes on the two-year anniversary of Harris’ appointment to the position of Border Czar. Jackson has made multiple visits to the border during this period while Harris has visited only once,” the release noted.

Jackson is adamant that Harris needs to be booted from overseeing the border and that it is a national security issue.

“Kamala Harris has done nothing to ‘address the root cause of migration’ or stop the influx of illegal immigrants coming across our border daily. She continues to sit by as the number of illegal immigrants coming across our border skyrockets, fentanyl deaths explode, and CBP officers are left to fend for themselves. She has completely betrayed the American people by blatantly disregarding her duties as border czar,” Jackson told the Daily Caller before he reintroduced the resolution.

“Enough is enough! President Biden must remove Kamala Harris and replace her with someone who will put Americans first and stop the crisis at our southern border. Politics should never compromise our national security. We need change now!” he declared.

Jackson has also introduced a bill that would require executive branch officials tasked with immigration policy to visit the southern border and issue reports on conditions found there.

The original cosponsors of the resolution include Pennsylvania Rep. Dan Meuser, California Rep. Mike Garcia, Texas Rep. Brian Babin, and Texas Rep. Randy Weber.

The statistics on the border are beyond alarming and it is glaringly obvious that Harris has not only been purposely negligent concerning the border but that she is also incompetent as well.

“Monthly encounters between U.S. Border Patrol agents and migrants attempting to cross into the United States at the U.S.-Mexico border remain at levels not seen in more than two decades,” Pew Research stated in January.

“The number of monthly migrant encounters had fallen to 16,182 – the second-lowest total in more than 20 years – in April 2020, shortly after the coronavirus outbreak forced the closure of the southwestern border and slowed migration across much of the world,” Pew reported.

“But encounters with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border have soared since then, with 206,239 reported in November 2022, according to the latest available monthly data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the federal agency that encompasses the Border Patrol. Recent monthly totals far exceed the peak reached during the last major wave of migration at the U.S.-Mexico border in May 2019 and are roughly on par with the previous peak reached in March 2000,” the research firm concluded.
