Hunter Biden and his wife, Melissa Cohen, reportedly trashed the multi-million-dollar California home they rented in Venice Beach, stiffing the owner for $80,000 in unpaid rent and leaving the swanky property in a state of “disarray and disrepair.”
Biden, Cohen, and their then-ten-month-old son, Beau, moved into the beach house, located on the edge of the iconic Grand Canal, in February 2021, and according to a “well-placed” DailyMail.com source, “Hunter and Melissa were horrible tenants.”

“Not only did they stiff the owner for months of rent,” the source told the outlet, “they left the house in terrible condition.”
The 3,735-square-foot, three-story home was owned at the time by Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman and rented out for a whopping $25,000 per month.
“They were totally disrespectful of Jonathan and [his wife] Leora’s property,” the source stated. “Melissa was rude and entitled. They destroyed the stereo equipment in the home and when someone came to fix it, they were uncooperative. They also left the place dirty.”
Neman sold the property last March for $3.9 million, but before he could move it, the owner had to clean up the Bidens’ mess. Today, the property is valued at an impressive $4.2 million.
Hunter and his family reportedly left the Venice Beach property after just six months, owing Neman three months’ rent when they opted instead for Malibu digs.
And what a property it was.
According to DailyMail.com:
The property boasts 25-foot acoustic ceilings and contemporary limestone floors in the main living area.
The modern space opens onto a large kitchen island and open-concept dining area.
It has just two bedrooms, but both are master suites with one expanding into a lounge with access that overlooks the pool and a marble bathroom.
The other, loft-style bedroom has a separate soaking tub and shower and opens onto a private balcony overlooking the historic Venice canals.
“Neman decided not to take Hunter to court for the arrears,” the DailyMail.com source dished. “It’s not that he needed the money and frankly it was embarrassing.”
The report is just the latest in what seems like a never-ending stream of scandals that make up the first son’s private and professional life.
As BizPac Review previously reported, Hunter’s “sweetheart” plea deal on tax and gun-related charges fell apart after Judge Maryellen Noreika balked at the lenient terms.
“These agreements are not straightforward and they contain atypical provisions,” Judge Noreika said, adding: “I’m not in a position where I can decide to accept or reject a plea agreement and I need to defer it.”
As a condition of his continued release, the first son was ordered to “actively seek employment” and stay off the booze and drugs.

And, more recently, Hunter’s former best friend and business partner, Devon Archer, testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability that, as vice president, Joe Biden was on speakerphone for at least 20 meetings between his son and foreign business associates.
“I don’t know if it was an orchestrated call-in or not,” Archer told Tucker Carlson following his deposition. “It certainly was powerful, though, because you’re sitting with a foreign businessperson and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s prize enough. I mean, that’s pretty impactful stuff for anyone in the world.”

“Obviously,” Archer said, “you know, the brand of Biden adds a lot of power when your dad’s vice president.”
“In the rearview,” Archer noted, “it’s an abuse of soft power, I’d say.”
