‘I got a lil secret I wanna tell u’: TX elementary school shooter sent cryptic message hours before rampage

The 18-year-old gunman who incomprehensibly killed 19 elementary school children and two adults appeared to tip off — or brag about — his horrific plans earlier in the day in an Instagram exchange with a reported casual acquaintance in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday morning, in a follow up to a previous conversation, Salvador Ramos, 18, messaged the girl and said, “I got a lil secret, I wanna tell u.” He added a smiley face emoji covering its mouth. In an earlier message, Ramos said: “I’m about to.”

Ramos shot his grandmother and then went to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, barricading himself inside the school and began shooting children and teachers and his Instagram messages to the girl appear to indicate that this was not a random action.

Instagram has taken the account down, but the Daily Mail acquired screen shoots of the DMs. Ramos had posted photos of the guns he reportedly purchased legally when he turned 18 on his page.

“You gonna repost my gun pics,” he purportedly asked the girl on May 12.

“what your guns gotta do with me,” she replied on Friday, May 20.

“Just wanted to tag you,” he answered.

On Tuesday hours before he would senselessly start slaughtering young children, Ramos messaged the girl: “I’m about to.”

When the girl asked him what he was about to do, he replied, “I’ll tell you before 11,” and urged her to respond when he got back to her.

“I got a lil secret I wanna tell u,” he said, with the aforementioned smiley face emoji covering its mouth.

‘Be grateful I tagged you,’ he wrote.

“No it’s just scary,” she answered, adding: “I barely know you and you tag me in a picture with some guns?”

At 9:16am, his final message to her read: “Ima air out.”

He began his rampage just over two hours later, around 11:32am.

The woman would take to Instagram after news broke of the shooting and comment on their interaction.

“He’s a stranger I know nothing about him he decided to tag me in his gun post,” she wrote, according to the Daily Mail. “I’m so sorry for the victims and their families I really don’t know what to say.”

“The only reason I responded to him was because I was afraid of him I wish I stayed awake to at least try to convince him to not commit his crime. I didn’t know,” she added, in horror.
