Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shut down a leftist lawmaker’s attempt at outrage-mongering at the Torrance County ICE Detention Facility.
Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, D-New Mexico, posted a video to social media on Wednesday announcing her visit to the facility. It was framed as a welfare check for detainees, amid complaints, as well as the typical rhetoric about President Donald Trump.

While that might sound good if you’re a Democrat voter who thinks that federal agents are abusers and immigration facilities are impregnable fortresses where terrible things happen, it didn’t take ICE long to come in with some much-needed context.
Look:

“We were glad to host you, Congresswoman. For those curious, here’s what happened,” the account wrote. “Prior to the visit, the Congresswoman signed ICE’s Facility Visitation Agreement form, indicating she would abide by all processes and policies governing personal conduct at ICE facilities. One of these policies is that meetings with detainees must be scheduled in advance, both for the privacy of detainees and the safety of visitors. Field leadership welcomed the Congresswoman and led a comprehensive tour tailored to the specific areas she had requested to see, including visitor check-in, intake, kitchen/food preparation and medical services.”
“During a tour of the kitchen area, the Congresswoman asked to speak with certain detainees in the area and was reminded that without prior consent from detainees, her request could not be accommodated at that time. Instead of accepting this guidance, the Congresswoman began talking and shouting to them from a distance, telling the detainees who she was and attempting to get closer to them,” the explanation continued. “This disrupted operations and required intervention by facility leadership. ICE maintains clear policies about acceptable conduct within its facilities, just like all other federal law enforcement agencies do. Those policies are made clear ahead of time to congressional visitors. Despite some members’ failures to abide by those policies, ICE continues to go above and beyond to keep the American people informed about our mission, operations and people.”
So she knew the rules, didn’t want to follow them because she thought her status as a lawmaker made her special, and now she’s whining about the consequences?

Lying Dem snake. Every attempt from them to “compromise” is just them trying to subvert and undermine you. Never believe or compromise with these people, just keep going!

@RepTeresaLF sounds like an uncouth pig showing zero respect for Illegal Alien detainees.
Moving forward why would any voter trust a word Teresa Leger Fernández says or follow a law she voted for?@NMDEMS @thenewmexican @TheDemocrats @ICEgov @TeresaForNM @housedems

Of course she’s rude and disrespectful, as so many of these attention seeking Dems are. Trying to create a story while casting herself in the starring role.

Shocking to me that a member of Congress thinks that she is entitled to special privileges. 🤯🙄
