Illegal aliens in NJ charged for doing what Dems say never occurs – voting in federal elections

Four foreign nationals were charged on Friday for illegally voting and for lying on their citizenship application.

Described as “resident aliens” by the Department of Justice (DOJ), meaning they were in the U.S. legally, the four legal aliens registered to vote in New Jersey by falsely certifying that they were citizens.

The four have been identified as David Neewilly, 73; Jacenth Beadle Exum, 70; Idan Choresh, 43; and Abhinandan Vig, 33.

“Neewilly voted in the 2020 and 2024 general elections, Beadle Exum and Vig voted in the 2020 general election, and Choresh voted in the 2022 general election,” according to a DOJ press release.

After voting, each of the four applied for citizenship but lied on their applications by claiming to have never voted in a federal election.

Some of the charges they face include Voting by an Alien in a Federal Election, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 611; False Statements in Relation to Naturalization, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1425(a); and Procurement of Citizenship or Naturalization Unlawfully, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1425(a).

“This administration will not tolerate aliens who attempt to vote in our elections when they know they are not eligible,” acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement. “As alleged, these green card holders lied in order to register to vote and then lied again to immigration authorities by falsely claiming never to have voted in a federal election.”

“This Justice Department will use every authority to protect the integrity of U.S. elections, including by prosecuting any noncitizens who lie about their legal status in an attempt to vote,” he added.

“Securing our elections from criminal actors here at home and around the world is one of the top priorities for this FBI,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in his own statement.

“Noncitizens voting is a federal crime – period – and while other administrations may have looked the other way in the past, those days are over. We continue to work around the clock with our interagency partners to ensure those who engage in such conduct will not get away with it,” he added.

Statements were also issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons, FBI special agent Stefanie Roffy, and FBI special agent in charge Michael S. McCarthy.

“HSI is actively investigating and rooting out election fraud wherever it can be found,” Lyons said. “This case shows that there is still work to do. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, HSI is committed to ensuring integrity in our election systems and ensuring that American citizens — and only American citizens — are electing American leaders.”

“The subjects are alleged to have knowingly circumvented one of our most sacred rights as citizens, the right to vote,” Roffy added. “The FBI and our partners will continue to pursue justice for those in violation of federal law, and keep the integrity of our elections intact.”

“This case highlights HSI’s dedication to safeguarding the integrity of the nation’s democratic and immigration processes,” McCarthy concluded. “HSI remains committed to collaborating with law enforcement partners to identify and address violations that threaten public trust in federal institutions.”

None of this is a surprise to J. Christian Adams, the president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation.

“The reality is aliens are voting in American elections,” he told the New York Post, adding that the primary problem is aliens, legal and illegal, being invited to register to vote through the mail or at their local office of motor vehicles.

“At times, it’s an organic process of aliens getting sucked in unwittingly,” he noted. “Maybe they’d been whipping down Modelos [beers] at a festival and they’re doing some guy a favor who is in their face with a clipboard.”

“Or they’re at the DMV and get these pop-up windows asking them to register. They think, ‘I must be allowed.’ I wish it were a conspiracy plot because it would be easier to bust. This is systemic failure,” he added.
