As the New York Police Department cracked down on unlawful motorbike usage, an illegal alien found herself in custody for allegedly being overly handsy as she resisted arrest.
Thursday night on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, a citywide sweep had found particular success around the Stratford Arms Hotel, one of numerous facilities contracted by Mayor Eric Adams (D) to house the influx of aliens. One such individual, later identified by the police as 20-year-old Baibaia Rodriguez, was evidently none-too-willing to comply peaceably as a struggle with the NYPD was caught on camera.
Footage obtained by The New York Post showed that officers were conducting confiscation of the unregistered scooter at West 71st Street and Broadway when the suspect allegedly “hit an officer with an open hand.”
Rodriguez was not alone in the melee with law enforcement as an officer could be heard shouting while surrounded by a group of bystanders, “Get back! Get back!” before seemingly telling one man in particular, “Bro, you’re going to get arrested.”
The suspect, what was said to be staying at a nearby hotel according to the authorities, had previously been arrested in July in connection with an alleged felony assault of her boyfriend. The charges brought against her Thursday were said to be resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and harassment.”
As previously reported, nearby residents like Joe Germanotta, the restauranteur father of singer Lady Gaga, had demanded action be taken against the wild behavior of illegals being housed in the area that had grown beyond mere disruption.
“I don’t mind having them there. They’re gonna be there for three years. That was the contract, I understand,” he had told the Post in August. “But at least manage it. Put the proper security in place, have a police presence and a code of conduct.”
“They’re guests in our neighborhood, and they have basically taken over,” continued Germanotta.

The Manhattan resident went on to say, “Hookers are coming and going. In the mornings, you see prostitutes coming out of the building. The worst part is at night. The noise. It starts at about 10 o’clock, and it’ll go until 4 in the morning. Playing music and racing their motocross and motorbikes up and down the streets.”
The NYPD has been in the midst of a crackdown on unlawful vehicles out on the streets and the West Side Rag had indicated that along with nine bicycles illegally “chained to a pole” near the hotel, they had confiscated one motorcycle, one scooter and four mopeds.
As of Wednesday, the 115th Precinct had reported, “If you’re driving a scooter recklessly and/or unregistered, it will be confiscated. Last weekend, your officers confiscated eight scooters. This year, so far, your officers have confiscated 200 scooters. We are here to keep our pedestrians and our motorists safe.”
