It’s a safe bet that Sen. Lindsey Graham would be a prime candidate if dictionaries ever placed a picture next to the political term RINO (Republican in name only), yet he continued to be reelected to one term after another.
After spending 8 years as a Republican congressman, Graham has represented South Carolina as a senator for two decades. He is not up for reelection until 2026, some three years from now, but a fellow Republican in the House continues to make noise about possibly challenging Graham.
U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, suggested on Tuesday night that he is strongly considering running against Graham for his Senate seat, Fox News reported.
“Yeah, I’m tired of Lindsey,” Norman told Fox News reporter Liz Elkind.
“I put out, I’m looking at it,” he continued. “In politics today that’s a long time, the 2026 race, but I’m tired of Lindsey. He’s done a good job on good judges, but he should. He’s the one who locked us in on the spending spree.”
“I’ve said it, it’s not new,” Norman added.
Back in July, Norman told Politico that “a lot” of groups have reached out to him about challenging Graham.
“Oh no, I’m not ruling it out,” the GOP lawmaker said at the time.
Norman, who has represented South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District since 2017, was overheard Tuesday night saying to someone on the phone, “Graham won’t tell him that because I’m going to run against him.”
Politico reporter Jordain Carney said of Norman, “Once he hops off the call, hedged on his plan but said he’s ‘tired of Lindsey.'”
“Asked directly if he was running against Graham after the call, Norman was more circumspect: ‘I”m looking at it. In politics a day is a long time.'” Carney added.

(But that ain’t a no)
